   Two answers:
   
   1) They obtain it because of shallow, dysfunctional individuals who make celebrities out of other shallow, dysfunctional people. Perhaps it is to feel better about themselves?
   
   2) Nearly all of the "celebrities" these days do not deserve it, IMHO.

   Why is Kim so popular? One word: Asstastic. That's about it.
   
   I appreciate the guys loving the booty, but unfortunately Kim's entire family is now disgracing our airwaves in America. Is "The Kardashians" broadcasted in any other countries? I sure hope not. Her mom is a total dillweed. SAD.

   I didn't know there was a show about her. what a waste of TV time. My co-worker said that her step-dad is Bruce Jenner, and on this show? What a joke.
   
   I only knew of her name because her boyfriend is Reggie Bush, pro football player for New Orleans Saints

   Never seen the show. I only know about it because I watch The Soup on E! They make fun of all the poor quality shows with in a 30 minute period.

   I hadn't heard of her until I was channel surfing the other day and her and her family were on Larry King. Before that I thought a Kardashian was a star trek creature ... I'm a nerd, I know.
   
   But, having watched a segment of Larry King, I'm guessing she's famous 'cause she had sex on camera and then "leaked" it to the media. Nice.
   
   And Bruce Jenner is the dad ... that's kinda sad. They showed segments from her show, which we don't get here ... but he seems to play the dumb one ... which is scary. Plus all that plastic surgery .. lordy.

      well, at least amy can write & sing. I mean, I think she has talent. Kim just had sex on tape ... big deal, we all have sex but how many of us can write a song? And sing it well?

      She's not a role model or anything though, you gotta admit that. I've never even heard Amy's music, I admit. All I've heard and seen is that she smokes crack, cancels shows, and now she has emphysema.
      
      She honestly looks kinda like my ex girlfriend. Anyways, Amy is just the latest replacement for the news' craving for a britney replacement. Just someone to make famous then ridicule.

      Well, if you haven't heard her music ... check it out, it's great. I can't think of any rock & roller who should be considered a role model ... it's all sex, drugs & rock & roll after all! lol
      
      But kim cardashian, paris hilton ... they don't have talent, unless you consider their home made sex tapes. That was my point.

      Stoeled Home Videos are a dime a dozen these days. Everyone from Screech to that little wanker Mini Me has their own sex tape, it's actually pretty sad. One of those girls from american idol has one too...Jessica Sierra I think.
      That paris hilton sex tape didn't demonstrate any talent either, looked more like a train wreck.
      
      There was talk years ago about mike tyson doing a sex video with jenna jameson. I guess it never happened though.
