Just wondering what women prefer.
Men with hair on their chest, lots, little or none?
Really interested in your opinions.

Hairy chests are great -- hairy backs, not so much.
    1. time2getdown
Thanks, you've given hope to a lot of guys out there I'm sure.
Chances are though that if you have a hairy chest then naturally you would more than likely have a hairy back as well.
      Maybe laser might work.
    2. MissSuzie
I can deal with a little hair back there, but a full on carpet -- no.
    3. Floormodel
enough to tickle the finger tips but not enough to braid?
  2. DaniG
I think anything a guy can grow that a woman cannot makes a guy more alluring. That said, I married a slick-chested guy. So, before you all rush off for hair implants, there's plenty of hope without them. lol

And I agree with Miss Suzie on the backs. No need over-doing a good thing.
    1. time2getdown
      Thanks DaniG,
I'm getting a feeling that if enough women respond to this discussion, the consensus will end up being that most women like hair at the front but not at the back.
      I wonder.
      Hope to get more responses.
  3. idealpinkrose
I don't like that hair on the chest. I prefer clean and smooth one..hehe...
    1. time2getdown
Thanks for your input. I wonder how many think the same.
  4. iheartcandies
I prefer little or none. HOWEVER, if a girl is really into you, she'll accept you for all the hair you've got =D
    1. time2getdown
Then is it a personality thing more than a hair thing?
So you will except a near grizzly man if he has a great personality and handsome face?
    2. iheartcandies
Hairyness isn't a deal breaker. It can always be fixed. Laser hair removal =D haha
  5. amybyrd21
There is a fine line here. My ex had enought hair front and back to be a big turn off and nair worked wonders. I do not like ment to hairy but i also done like them smooth as a babys butt either.
    1. time2getdown
Was that perhaps a reason why he's your ex?
Did the over hairiness make it easier to break up?
Not being funny here, just curious.
    2. time2getdown
Another thing too, Nair makes hair grow back prickly after a couple of days. That would be a turn off too would it not.
  6. jeremyjanson
I've got a huge fluffy beard (over 1 inch long) with moustache and bushy hair, wear a cowboy hat sometimes, and a veritable carpet on my chest, arms and legs. I've got a little hair on my shoulders, but not enough to really compare, and it goes up my neck a little bit as well. Back is smooth though.
    1. amybyrd21
I need apicture I just have a picture in my head ot the hairy creature off of theAdams Family.
    2. Agit8r
somehow I pictured Robert E Lee...
    3. amybyrd21
i am so sliping in on you one night with gloved hands and rubbing you down with nair. The world will thank me. lol
    4. jeremyjanson
Unfortunately I might turn in to a wolf and eat you. DELISH!
    5. amybyrd21
I am so not replying to that on so many levels. My mind is in the gutter as you can see on creative cooking discussion I started and I just do not want to be banned from here tonight.
    6. Agit8r
"my what big teeth you have!"
    7. Agit8r
      no, no. teeTH... not tea**!
    8. jeremyjanson
@amybyrd: This is what you get for threatening my fur coat!
  7. sorcerer
    what beeg hair you got?
    1. time2getdown
So Sorcerer, what do you think, judging from your photo, you look like a grizzly kinda guy? Hahaha
What do you think women want?
  8. alivasim
got some hair on chest but not on back yet...
    1. time2getdown
Not yet, but it's coming, get ready to be transformed into a grizzly.
  9. time2getdown
Come on ladies, let us men know the truth, please keep comments rolling.
  10. lifeshighway
I prefer a smooth chest although I have admired a hairy chest from afar for example the chest of Hugh Jackman in the Wolverine movie I saw the other night. Nice chest shot for the ladies.
    1. time2getdown
Thanks for the comment, I guess that's why Hugh Jackman has been voted as one of worlds sexiest men.
      Wonder what other ladies think?
Does the Hugh Jackman hairy thing work for you?
  11. time2getdown
    In response to siralmo comment.
By the way dude at least I have the balls to put my real face as an avator unlike your pathetic photo.
    Go get F......................ked!!
    1. jeremyjanson
Oh cool it Siralmo does that to everyone. You actually come to enjoy it after a while.
  12. time2getdown
Yeah thanks, jeremyjanson, give the prick encouragement.
    1. jeremyjanson
The longer you're here at BC, the more you'll come to appreciate our free-wheeling nature. Tip: Get in on it yourself! Don't stay to the sidelines. Let the chaos begin and the bullets start flying!
  13. time2getdown
So you reckon we should go all guns blazing jeremyjanson?
Maybe I should start a "give it your best shot abuse" discussion then.
    Hahaha
    1. jeremyjanson
Yeah that's how we roll here. It's really very liberating.
  14. time2getdown
Any other ladies want to make a comment about hairy chests, comments appreciated.
  15. calais50
It doesn't matter either way to me.
    1. time2getdown
Thanks for your comment calais50, interesting to see what women think about this subject. Do other ladies share calais50's opinion?
      Let us know.
    1. time2getdown
What the HELL does "Guide design a website from simple to professional" have to do with hairy chests, WEBSATART1???
  16. iriegal
I love a man with hair on their chest, but the KING KONG TYPE are a turn off. Can't do the lawnmower over the back thing
    1. time2getdown
Thanks for your comment, I like the King Kong reference by the way.
I often wonder why the heck some men were created to be so hairy. Maybe its a primitive thing to keep us warm or maybe its a sexual thing to attract women.
I noticed though that back in the 50s & 60s, the hairy look was quite in. Remember Shaun Connery in 007, he was a real hunk back then and he had lots of hair on chest and shoulders. Nowadays though the ape man ain't in as much, seems that maybe Hollywood might have a part in fashion and taste psyche.
      What do you think ladies?
  17. lifeshighway
The ickiness factor starts when the hair curls up over the collar.

I believe I read that Sean Connery need to be trimmed because he could obscure his leading ladies faces with his massive hairiness. (Although that could be an urban legend)
  18. pillownaut
Hairy chests rock! Hairier the better. Don't care about back hair, could take it or leave it ... but i definitely don't care for smooth men and it really creeps me out that men are shaving and waxing themselves these days. too boyish. IMHO, men with lots of hair have better natural scent
    1. DailyBeerReview
I only clicked this discussion b/c I wanted to see what pillownaut thought!
    2. jeremyjanson
Yeah I have noticed I can get away longer without showering then my smooth skinned friends.
    3. time2getdown
      In response to pillownaut
Thanks for your comment. Never thought that some women really loved all the hair. It's good to know. I'm not a hairy back sort of guy but those guys that are, must be feel good if they read your comment.
  19. BlogDogW2
    Hairy chests hell no!
    1. time2getdown
      Thanks for your comment.
  20. aningeniousname
I fall within the mid hairy range so I am looking to pick up stragglers from both camps which is quite strange because I am as bald as a freshly plucked turkey around my "demilitarised zone"
    1. time2getdown
Not trying to be funny here, but do you find that you look for guys with hairy chests according to your mood.
If your feeling quite aroused does the hairy chest thing make it more intense?
    2. legbamel
Yeah, Anin, do you you look for guys with hairy chests or do you like your men smooth?
    3. crpitt
I would also like to know Anin's answer.
    4. aningeniousname
Oh I like my men sm.....Hey!!! What are you implying???? I will have you know My bread is served butter side up! (That means I like ladies with hairy chests)
    5. crpitt
But does this change according to your mood?
    6. aningeniousname
I don't have moods only women and interior designers have moods.
    7. crpitt
What! You are not a Woman? Not a Woman!

  21. LaurenM622
i love a hairy chest! not a hairy back, but definitely don't de-hair the chest. i think it's sexy & cuddly!
    1. time2getdown
Thanks LaurenM622, What about for guys with hairy backs, should they have it shaved or lasered?
  22. onceafortnight
I don't really care either way - but I am pretty adverse to facial hair on the whole!
    1. time2getdown
Thanks onceafortnight, I share your opinion too about facial hair. I guess it suits some guys like for example Al Pacino in Carlito's Way, but hey that's Al Pacino.
I wonder what other ladies think also about facial hair.
Ladies, hairy chests and facial hair what do you think?
  23. time2getdown
Ladies, without crossing the line here of decency, does the hairy chest thing make sex more arousing for women?
Interested in what you have to say?
  24. AchEmpire
Depends on the man's scent, because otherwise it's a problem after you want to lay up and then the hair sticks to your face.
    1. time2getdown
      Thanks AcheEmpire,
Interesting opinion about a mans scent. I would imagine that would be most important to most or all women. I know it is for me, women who smell nice are always more appealing.
    2. AchEmpire
time2getdown - Good you agree, and thanks.
  25. time2getdown
Something else I thought I would throw into this discussion.
My theory is that the younger a women is, the more likely she would "not" like hairy chests. Maybe hairy chests appeal more to older women.
Curious, If your a more mature lady, did you find that your taste changed over the years. The older you became the more you appreciated men with hairy chests?
And for the younger ladies, perhaps early twenties, what do you think as well.
Is my theory right or wrong?
    1. AchEmpire
Well I'm 33 and dating a 60 year old doctor who has somewhat a hairy chest, but because his scent is so perfect I ignore the chest hair. He's the first man I've dated with chest hair, and because he's so affectionate it's nice to lay on his shoulder and gaze in his scent, after our love moments. So far he's given me good experience with this area. I guess I can't decide on my taste until I understand more about are all men with hairy chest like him.
    2. hatingtherain
      gaze in his scent?

      that's so sexy
    3. AchEmpire
      hatingtherain - Thanks
  26. hatingtherain
I prefer little to no hair on a man's chest. But I wouldn't dump someone for that. I'd give him the opportunity to wax first.
    1. time2getdown
      Thanks for your comment hatingtherain.
It's pretty tough being a guy sometimes when it comes to this issue. On the one hand I think that if a women really loves you then she's going to love your hair. On another note though, I guess we guys are pretty picky about women as well. Big bums, small bum, big boobs small boobs etc.
So I guess we're all guilty when it comes to judging a book by its cover to some degree.
At least you wouldn't dump a guy for that reason anyway.
      Thanks again.
    2. hatingtherain
I'm joking actually. Personality is so much more important than any physical attribute. Good looks and a sexy body are just a bonus really.
  27. time2getdown
Interesting comment AcheEmpire. When you refer to scent, do you mean natural body scent or aftershave, deodorant etc?
Nice to see though that you have such an open mind that you can see past age.
    1. AchEmpire
time2getdown - He does a combo of all 3, but the ones he leaves on me the most are the aftershave and lotion scents. I end up having those scents still lingering on me, when we kiss good bye to each other.
  28. time2getdown
    AcheEmpire, that great to know.
I might start a discussion on what kind of aftershaves or colognes women like on men for my next one. Unless someone else takes the idea.
  29. Livinginthepast
Whatever they have. It's not like they can help it.
    1. time2getdown
No I guess not, but for a guy, at least for me anyway, it's interesting to get a woman's perspective on it.
    2. Livinginthepast
Maybe I'm not that shallow with the people I like? I'd prefer to shun personality types rather than 'oh no, he's got hair on his chest boohoo'.
  30. time2getdown
Anyone else want to make a comment?
  31. brianomaracroft
Better on men than on women
    1. time2getdown
Thanks brianomaracroft, I agree. Although I have heard that some men like the scary hairy type of women. Hairy armpits, legs etc. Not quite my cup of tea though.
  32. Floormodel
I like some hair on the chest but not so much that it covers him nipple to nut.
    1. crpitt
That comment has made me change my book choice for you, I need your address
    2. Floormodel
look for it in your inbox as soon as I finish playing poker over there.
    3. crpitt
      Excellent
    4. time2getdown
Hahaha, I like the comment, nipple to nut bit. I guess there's no choice when it comes to the nipple to nut bit. Far as I know it's part and parcel of the whole thing. You can't avoid between nipple and nut, its inevitable. If there's hair up above then its gonna crawl down to the bottom as well, kind of like a weed growing out of control.
  33. fazrul
    lol..i got a bit only,hahaha
    1. time2getdown
Thanks Fazrul, Just curious, do you wish you had less hair, more hair or are you happy with what you've got?
  34. HollytheHousewife
It doesn't matter to me either way...I always take care of my man though
    1. time2getdown
      Thanks HollyTheHousewife, that's nice.
    2. HollytheHousewife
When I say take care I mean grooming wise. I would shave teds face and do his eye brows,if he had had hair on his back I woulda definately waxed it. I can deal with the chest, not the back
  35. pinkmonkeychatter
Love them. Hairless men freak me out!!
    1. time2getdown
      Thanks pinkmonkeychatter.
Do you think hairless is kind of more feminine and I'm curious as to what you consider to be "too hairy", is there a limit?
And a question for all ladies....what if a man has a not so handsome face but has a hairy sexy body, is that ok?
Or vice versa, what if the man has a very handsome face but a chubby body with plenty of hair and a good personality?
Interested in really getting your responses.
    2. pinkmonkeychatter
I see a hairless chest and I feel as if I am having sex with a child. Yet, a back that resembles a wookie probably needs a shave. And I need the whole package face and body. However, I tend to be attracted to the nerdy types: Think Rivers Cuomo.
  36. crazyTsu
don't listen to whatever ladies say - they like everything when the time comes!
    1. time2getdown
Mr crazy Tsu, I always enjoy your comments and inputs, so tell me, what are you referring to when you say "When The Time Comes"
Let us all be enlightened by your wisdom.
    2. crazyTsu
Women don't run their life like the points based UK HSMP (highly Skilled Migrant) program. For them to like someone a lot of factors are involved. If the one they "like" comes along, no hair will matter and neither will smell

Ya, I expect some fruit to be thrown for this but nyyyyyaaa thumb in nose to you
  37. HollytheHousewife
For me looks don't matter too much. I mean I want a man that's well groomed but pulls off the dirty kinda messed up look. He has to smell good. The most important thing is smart, funny, can carry on a convo with out being nervous. I feel so sorry for them when they stutter..it's like man up dude I won't bite hard, haha
I love confidence, but don't confuse that with egotistical. I CAN'T STAND someone who would rather talk to himself in the mirror than me...I HATE that type!! That's why I don't date dudes from the club. They're all like I gotta bentley or do u like muscles....DUHHHHHH....AS IF!!! Laughable
    1. time2getdown
Thanks HollytheHousewife, you've given good input into the discussion. You seem to know what you want and its reasonable and mature.
I know of some ladies that fit the description you refer to about the egotistical kind and its hard to find someone who has just the right balance, for me anyway as a guy, women look great in shapes and sizes depending on their personality. Its interesting how attractive a person can all of a sudden become if you discover they have a great personality that makes up for their imperfections.
Also I feel personally that I am more attracted to women that are not extremely attractive. I like women who are not to perfect and have a really tolerant personality, in other words, a positive attitude.
I wonder if most women feel the same about men.
Can you really fall in love with personality if the opposite sex is not too attractive and continue to be happy without wanting to stray?
  38. HollytheHousewife
Yes,that's what I just said. My cuz tash says I love dorks...I don't think that's true,I just would rather beable to relate to who I date. I'm the biggest dork ever, except I don't care who knows it. I don't think that there is anything wrong with being silly, if I fell down or something I would laugh and hope the person I'm with would do the same. At the same time I want someone who doesn't care if I watch history channel or discovery.
    1. time2getdown
I like what your saying HollytheHousewife, easy going and a bit silly, that's ok with me. I guess for most guys too. Discovery and History channel, well I guess that make me a dork too.
  39. time2getdown
Hahaha crazyTsu, I always get a laugh from you. Thanks for your recent comment. Although I wonder if its true what you say about "smell". I wonder what you think about smell then?
  40. time2getdown
Anyone else out there wanting to contribute to the discussion?
  41. aspotofblog
I don't mind a bit of hair, but if a guy starts resembling a gorilla, then it puts me off.
    1. time2getdown
Thanks for comment aspotofblog, I saw a bloke at the beach the other day that had a full back of thick curls. I thought to myself, I wonder if the chicks dig that look?
Then I looked at him twice and though NAAAHH!!
  42. nothingprofound
I was pretty hairless until I got into my 30s when a little vegetation sprouted on my chest. But by then I was so irresistible to the ladies it didn't make any difference.
    1. time2getdown
      Hahaha, You sexy man you!!!
    1. time2getdown
Thanks for your comment JessicaMaybury. I guess "absolutely" means you love the hairy chests, yes?
    2. crazyTsu
BTW is that a picture of you being forcibly dragged to school?
  43. drummingpariah
I started with shaving, graduated to nair less often than shaving, then eventually grew up and went in to get waxed. There isn't much that can compare to how comfortable being hairless feels. Guys, if you haven't tried it yet, give it a go.
    1. time2getdown
Thanks for your comment drummingpariah, I found that after using those products and waxing, the hair starts to grow back in few days all prickly and becomes really uncomfortable. I kind of given up and just accepted that some ladies actually like hair and others don't. Just like some guys like big boobs and others don't, blonde or brunette etc.
      Thanks
    2. drummingpariah
I guess it really does come down to your own genetic makeup and tastes. I've tried pretty much everything for hair removal, and decided that a well-done wax is about the best thing for me. It's less for the ladies, and more for the comfort itself.
  44. ArsenicCookies
I prefer hairy-ish men, not too much that it looks like a shirt but not bare either. I like hairy men because in my little mind, dating and mating are primal, I'm attracted to someone's natural scent and a big ol hairy man produces mental images of carnal cave men types.. manly men who can keep me in line... yeah I am not quite right
    1. time2getdown
Hi ArsenicCookies, loved your comment. Interesting perspective regarding the primal thing. I guess mating and dating to some degree is kind of primal, especially the mating side of it, and I suppose when you add the scent part into it as well then I gets quite passionate and powerful. Thanks for your honest comment.
  45. time2getdown
Anyone else wish to comment, so far this discussion has been pretty good, hope it keeps rolling along longer.
Honest opinions are a way to learn from each other and always appreciated.
Let us know what you think, male or female.
  46. alivasim
@holly u r always on the money... i think nagging is the thing that irritates me more than a specific channel...nd i guess thats the case with most other boys...i wont mind to sit nd watch discovery channel wid ma gf or wife...
  47. sjtavo
ideally - a little bit of hair, the soft curly kind....i hate when a guy shaves or waxes but that's a bit girly for me....

that being said, if i can braid it, it's too much hair LOL
    1. time2getdown
      Thanks sjtavo,
I see guys at the gym that shave the moment that they start getting toned and built. I often wonder why they think that muscles means waxing. They must think they look better full of muscle without hair.
      Are they wrong?
    2. sjtavo
I have a good friend Shaun, aka Arm Candy, who's a model and works out religiously. He's very conscious about body hair...so he shaves it regularly, front and back. He feels it looks better without hair and he feels, well, better, with no hair. I don't get it, and I make a show of lifting his shirt to check his stubble every time i see him (ok, plus it allows me to rub my hands over his six-pack but still... I'd rather there be some hair).

I sleep with a guy who's got some native american in him and he has about 2 hairs on his chest/belly. that's it. it's almost a turn-off b/c he's this huge guy with no hair.... hair = man to me LOL
  48. time2getdown
Thanks sjtavo, you answered my question really well. I really thought that women liked hairless muscular guys more. So far the majority of women who wrote in his discussion like hair on men. I'm quite surprised and kind of happy with the result so far.
  49. time2getdown
Any ladies out there that don't like chest hair on men, let us know, curious to know what it is that turns you off.
The question goes to ladies who like men with hardly any hair.
Of course more comments are welcome from anyone, keep em coming.
  50. Men101
I'm in the like hairy chest category. Weirdly I prefer no hair on the chest to few straggly hairs but ideally I love lots of hair on a man's chest.
    1. time2getdown
      You see!
There is hope out there for primitive type man!
Fashion does come back, the Travolta days shall be reborn.
      Thank you
  51. AnastasiaFB
No, not for me. It's just a matter of taste.
    1. time2getdown
I'm socked, devastated and shattered, I'm gonna have a shave now, how will I cope?
Hahaha, thanks, yes it's is about taste, thanks for sharing.
