I would prefer a man who's taller than me. But in a relationship it's the personality that counts most. Outward feature is not my main basis of a successful relationship.

I'm 5'6" and like wearing 3-4 inch heels and I like the guy to be at least a few inches taller.

It does to me, but not too much. I am 5'2 so if they are at least 5'5 it's all good. My exhubby was 6'1 and my boyfriend before that 5'6 so I have a pretty big window for preferred height

i like really tall men (6'0" at a minimum) - but that's just my type. i just can't date a guy i can the same height as in heels.

that said, i've dated plenty of tall jerks so the height definitely doesn't have any bearing on their character in a relationship

I don't look for it first, but I'm 5'8", so I do prefer a man taller than I. If it really came down to it, it most likely wouldn't make a difference.

It's not about being shallow, it's all a matter of competition, natural selection. People think that when people like myself use height as a criteria, we are choosing tall jerks with nothing going for them other than height. No-it is usually works out something more along these lines: (for example)I find 10 men, all intelligent, kind, and good looking, all acceptable as mates. If I have a choice, why wouldn't I pick the one I was conditioned by evolution to find more desireable?

I know that when I was dating I felt awkward being with guys who were near my height or shorter than me. I am 5ft 2. The guy I married is 6ft 6inches tall.

Now I didn't take his height into consideration when thinking of having his children.

My son was 22 1/2 inches long at birth, and my daughter 21 1/2 inches long. I expect them both to be at least six feet tall.

Height doesn't matter to me at all. I could care less how "we" look to other people and that's all this question really amounts to -- public perception. Simply stated I think those who have height criteria for potential partners are "shallow".

My wife, sorry ladies ;) is 5"4 and has said she couldn't marry anyone shorter than she is. Her sister is slightly shorter again and her husband is 6"0
