Leah is the amazing and inspirational 17 year old daughter of my friend Evelyn.

When Leah was 13, she wanted to read a magazine that didn't exist, so she created it herself.

She founded, YALDAH magazine all by herself, as a magazine by girls for girls. She edited, wrote, produced and managed the content and international distribution.

Here is the link to YALDAH magazine:

4 years later, earlier this Summer, Barnes and Noble wanted to distribute her magazine. She wanted to jump at the opportunity, but didn't have the cash to print enough copies to meet the distribution minimums.

Meanwhile, her mother had entered her in the Wells Fargo "Someday Stories" contest. Her mom had to enter because it wasn't a kids' contest, and she is underage.

Over 10,000 applications were reviewed, an 7 weeks later, Leah was one of the 5 finalists who received $10,000, and were in the running for the grand prize of $100,000!

The $10,000 allowed Leah to print enough copies to accept the opportunity to sell the magazine at Barnes and Noble.

NOW, she and four others are listed on the Wells Fargo site, and the one who gets the most votes before 11/10/08 will win the grand prize of $100,000!

(Leah's story is listed as "Evelyn in MA", and you can see the current vote count by mousing over the contestants' names on the left hand side of the page.)

I'm so excited and proud for her, and I really want to help in any way I can.

I have a blog, and wrote about it there:

I created a facebook group, too:

Leah/Evelyn was far in the lead for the first week, but yesterday, the man from Utah overtook her. This morning, she's back on top again.

Reportedly, the man from Utah was working the social networks hard on his behalf. I want to do what I can to help Leah win this contest.

My blog post is sparking a few blog posts within the bloggers who read mine, but I'd really like to expand beyond this.

Does anyone have any suggestions of recommendations for how to promote this? I appreciate it!

Thank you!

(P.S. Thanks to Jaffer who recommended I post this query here.)

Oy. Now I'm worried that I'm not getting replies because the title makes this post look like SPAM.
