I've introduced Wilhelm Groener on "Clio and Me," because I need to talk about issues that involve him in future posts and I can't assume readers know who he was. mrstoneman.blogspot.com/

I've gone on a space theme tangent of sorts on my tumblelog recently. Blame 06mopar for talking about cars and Purdles for starting a video party thread here.

Neo - enjoyed your post about the Russians being camera shy and the bowing - would help to do yoga in preparation for the bowing!

I wrote a bit about Mt. Vesuvius (it destroyed Pompeii today in 79 AD)and wondered over Chinese food if it posed a risk to my newly adopted city- Rome.

jessica - enjoyed reading your post on Pompeii. Just saw an exhibit at the Science Museum about P. The last eruption was in 1944...ya never know, but I better get a visit in pretty soon just to make sure before it's too late.

    1. WokeupToday
Thanks for a useful post on how an interview can be done more easily.
  7. Bricore
No, it's easy to do. It took me about 5 min. if that to do round braids. The first time I did a flat braid I got a little Zig Zag going on but that was because we were driving (I wasn't driving..lol..my husband was) and my kids were talking to me.

    Dora Renee' Wilkerson
    1. WokeupToday
Outstanding interview! I think it's the best PM interview I've ever read. I knew he was in the Stones back in the early 60's but my wife has refused to believe me, now I can show her this! Thank you. I can't begin to tell you what this will do for my sex life.

I'd appreciate informed opinions and/or comments.

    Naturally.

    And, thanks for this opportunity!
    1. WokeupToday
I left my comment - "I tried SU for a while. Maybe I didn't use it the right way, but I didn't see the upside for the amount of effort, at least for me. But I'm not closing the door on it though in the future."

By the way Norski - those Hawaiian lunch plate joints on my Diner blog are sometimes hole-in-the-walls, sometimes dives, sometimes drive-inns (I notice they tend to use inn instead of in in Hawaii - whew thats a lot of ins in one sentence), sometimes roadhouses and yes sometimes diners! :-))
    2. Norski
Thanks for the additional info - I should remember to buzz by that blog more often.

Interesting to read about the huge increase in online adverts and also women and seniors being so active in Britain on the internet. I had it figured wrong. Wonder what the breakdown is in the USA.

Mine is about the power of a kiss. I loved the video of Dean. The windshield wiper that doesn't hold a ticket would be worth money to this day.

    bryspolisci.blogspot.com/2007/08/power-of-kiss.html
    1. WokeupToday
Bryan - Great post and picture. I believe also in the power of love...expressed in a kiss...in words...in a deed...we have that ability at any time to make a difference in other peoples' lives and also our own.

Thanks for the comp on my post. Dean is so very cool and funny!
    2. 06mopar
Thanks Danny. I don't remember who it was but somebody once said children have life figured out better at the age of 5 then most adults do at 55. A kiss makes it all better.

Key steps for effective meetings. Monday's post will be about the pursuit of "power".

    www.inspirebyaction.com
    1. WokeupToday
Good explanation on having a good meeting. Thank goodness I no longer have to go to those. The ideal meeting I think would be one where everyone stands - think they would be shorter and to the point and people would less likely to schedule them. :-)

The Cold War Museum: something of a critique.

    mrstoneman.blogspot.com/2007/08/cold-war-museum.html
    1. WokeupToday
Oh, I agree, the cold war is a rich complex history and the tough questions and analysis are needed in order to be clear and to be honest with ourselves and the world. Listened to a program on NPR tonight about a similar topic - Dresden bombings and current critical analysis of the decisions made then and how the current critiques are not finding welcomes ears of vets.

“René Magritte was no doubt disappointed that, aside from the small circle of his kindred spirits among the Surrealists, the world needed over a quarter of a century to discover that his work has both philosophical and poetic content which corresponds to certain social and intellectual trends, particularly of the second half of the twentieth century. What do you think?

Here are the top seven movies on art and artists, my pick of course, although I would have some difficulty where to put Pollock and Frida, as I think I may have been a little tight. They probably belong a lot further up. I do also like ‘Girl with the Pearl Earing’ but I think that is more for Scarlett Johansson. LOL!

What would your top 7 be?

The fantastically successful competition will close at Midnight on Saturday so this really is your last chance. If you want to receive a great gift for yourself or for someone you love, then visit the blog and send your ideas. I will be making a decision by the latest 5th December. Where after I will announce the winner and once I have their details will send them the painting by courier so hopefully they will get it by Christmas. Good Luck!
