Do you believe there is a spiritual world?

Do you believe in incarnation?

Where do we go when we die?

Do our souls continue on?

Or...

Is it "Gamer Over"?

*This is a spiritual, scientific and/or physiological question, not a religious question (Although - it could be that as well).

In other words - What do you believe?

What have you observed?

What have you experienced?

What do you think you know?

What do you know (for a fact) to be true?

What are the possibilities of an after life?

I definitely believe there is life after death. I lived in a haunted house, growing up, where I saw and heard ghosts. Every friend, every family member who ever stayed the night there has heard and seen ghosts. I could give examples but the list would seem endless. No kidding. I'll most likely write a post about the subject soon.

Well, let's start with the fact that the only evidence we have to date is purely anecdotal. That doesn't mean the reporters are lying, precisely, but it could mean that they are interpreting phenomena in terms they know, such as "ghosts."

Next, consider the difficulty of the human mind to truly grasp infinity. Some of us have the same difficulty grasping the concept of nothingness.

Finally, there is our natural fear of the unknown. Death is the great unknown and most people fear it. They also fear the end of themselves. So, a belief in an afterlife helps quell that fear, especially if they believe their afterlife will be free of the toils and concerns of this one.

Finally, there is the element of population control...scaring people into obedience with threats of eternal punishment after they are dead balanced with the carrot of eternal bliss if you are a good, submissive, obedient little slavey.

I think the whole thing is bunk, dreamed up by primitives to both control their subordinates and assuage their natural fear of "what happened to Og after the mastodon stepped on his head?"

      Ah!!!

      Interesting.

I see what you're getting at.

      Correct me if I'm wrong...

We are spirit (ethereal) beings having a physical experience, instead of the reverse which most people cling to, which would be...

We are physical beings with occasional spiritual experiences.

      Love it!

Lets explore this idea shall we?

      Any thoughts?
