Yes, There was amount of Jeen and some kind of human-likes according to Qur'an. But these were not being defined as Man. So the first man on earth is Adam.

@Ophase, I believe you might be right. (other human likes)
1st of all, Abel didn’t have a wife as he was murdered by his brother Cain and personally I believe there was sibling marriages that must of followed some where down the line of Adam and Eve as they lived a long, long time and had many children after Cain and Able. However, Cain’s wife is a different story. The scriptures say that Cain traveled to the east into the “darkness” aka demons or fallen angels.
Meaning there was life before Adam and Eve. They were not full blooded humans either like Adam and Eve, but these living beings were also known to be marked as Cain was by G-d.
“And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.” Gen. 4:16
Where is this land? Bible scholar have pretty much pinned it down to in or near present-day Iraq.
The seeds of destruction continue to fall on that ground even today.

What would you all say if I said - the Bible is a book of astrological reference to the ages through space and time?

Actually if you study your old testament again and how it has morphed over time you will find that the Adam and Eve mythos was not actually about the first people on the planet, it was about them being the first of their ethnicity. That is where the girls came from, another people.
Did you know that biologist still get asked often if men have one less rib than women. Apparently many people don't know they have an equal number, be they men or women. It's really kinda sad. -
Yes... Life is thought have appeared on earth around 4.2 billion years ago in the form of simple Archea. (-Archea is the third domain of life) I dont know to much about the bible but I have heard that it refers to older stories that go all the way back to around 5,000bc. So assuming that the story of Adam and Eve was one of the first of those stories it can only be around 7k years old. Or lets assume that Adam was the first human. It is estimated that humans appeared on the planet around 200,000 to 150,000 years ago. This would mean that life had existed long before Adam even if he was the first organism that one can consider to be human.
