I don't think I'm quite a baby boomer (born in 1966) but I think that one of my blogs is right on track with your theme... rockstories.blogspot.com is about writing and publishing, and the primary theme is that you CAN make a living writing and you DON'T have to follow anyone else's formula to do it. I'm a lawyer/teacher who always wanted to write (or rather, who always wrote and always wished I could make a living at it) and was able to make the transition in my thirties.

    Close enough.
As promised I commented on your Journalism Posting.

I also added a link to your blog on my Squidoo Lens, called
    "A Lawyer's Writes"

I looked at all of them, but chose your small business blog to leave a comment.
Just curious, what did you do before you started blogging so profusely.

I've been a beet chopper, radio disk jockey, office clerk, employment counselor, and a number of other jobs, but for a recent two decades I was a copywriter/graphic designer and then list manager for a small publishing company.

Thanks for the comment, BTW. I'll be checking that out.

I could probably find my draft card if I had to. I don't think my blog qualifies - but I enjoyed reading about everyone else's here - thought I'd join the fun.

What's a 42 year old doing with a draft card? Inquiring minds want to know.
    2. okokokok
First - thanks for visiting the site. I appreciate it. I almost missed your comment. . . There are some elements of the blog that are, I'm red-faced to admit, fictional. That age - 42 - is fiction. The truth is that I am old enough to have a draft card.
But wait there are more untruths!
I also know I could not find the draft card if I had to. . . I gave it to a young woman I met on a greyhound bus somewhere between Boston and Hartford in 1976. She was a year or two younger than I and had never seen one.
There were 646 (I assume men) drafted in 1973 when I was "eligible".

funny you should bring this up. I was just thinking of re-branding my blog concept into a focus on a 2nd life, beginning now, in middle age years.

At the moment, I am sick, on Mount Everest.

Forgive me, but I have no idea what your site is about...Kind of a National Onion kind of thing maybe?

Also, I wasn't sure where I could post a comment

I hate Pepsi! Didn't used to, but ever since I switched to Diet Coke to save my teeth from the sugar, I just can't even think about Diet Pepsi!

Your entries are very thoughtful, makes me want to know more about the person that is writing them.

Come on all you Blogging Boomers, tell us more about YOUR journey, Your Choices, Your Goals, YOUR NEXT Adulthood.

We are entering a period of our lives where we are free to do more and we have the wisdom of our age allowing us to choose a different path than the one we have been treading.

The Who had it wrong, it's not "I hope I die before I get old"
    it's "I hope I live before I get old"
  15. SweetViolet
I am what some call a "leading edge" boomer: born in early '47.

As a 54 year-old widow I embarked upon a romance with a man younger than two of my children. Two years later we married, after which I sold up my life in Silicon Valley and moved to his home in South Africa. I've now been here nearly five years, and my blog is basically about my life here.

    sweetvioletsa.blogspot.com/

    Do I qualify?
    1. BL
You are in like Flynn...no wait he was from Tasmania.
In like Flint...no James Coburn just played an Australian in the Great Escape...he was really from Nebraska.

Okay...You are in like...Charlize Theron...doesn't have the same ring to it, but at least she's from South Africa.

I'm a boomer - turned 48 this year. My blog reveals a side to my personality not usually seen, particularly as I sit in my cubicle and crunch numbers all day long.

    My blog is haiku
    Just seventeen syllables
    and each entry's done

    Any resemblance
    to actual poetry
    is accidental.

Don't know how I missed this discussion. Yes I am a boomer and my booming years just started 2 years ago, when I left a "secure" job and started my home-based business. Using all the talents, I have been blessed with, I try to pass the knowledge doing health (SE therapy) and personal development coaching. My main goal is to bring health and joy to as many people who will chose it. My blog empower-you.blogspot.com is only the tip of the iceberg or the tail of the "whale". Will be launching my website soon. Nice to meet all the baby boomers!

My new baby boomer blog is boomerbabyboomer.blogspot.com
I am really enjoying the blog world and have fun injecting personal experiences and opinions about my boomer generation.
  21. homebase
Just discovered and pleased to meet so many blogging boomers. I am one of the oldest, born in 1946. I've been publishing my blog about home exchange for nearly five years (to compliment my home exchange business). I'm nearly ready to pass on the day to day work of running the agency but not to give up blogging!
  22. ScreamBucket
A corner stone of my economic thesis is that the Baby Boom cohort - by it's size and wealth, has had a dramatic effect on the problems we face today, and will have an even greater effect as they pass through the snake.

As my bio says;"Born at the wrong end of the Baby Boom Generation - too late to enjoy the ride, too early to have missed it, and stuck in the middle with the mess."
  23. adelpat
I was born in 1953, so I think I fit. I am a retiree and write about my new life, as well as references to the preretirement life. My blog is: aliceinretirement.blogspot.com

My husband was born in 1947 (he hates me telling that). His blog is about politics and news. He is quite good. He is delsperspective.blogspot.com

Come visit us and leave comments. We both love to get comments.

    Born in 1960.

Click on my avatar b/c I have 8 blogs and pick one that interests you. Don't know if any fit what you're looking for, though.

  25. askcherlock
Well, we are Boomers who have lived through the best of times and the worst. My kids think it's "awesome" that we were once hippies. They have totally romanticized that era. Much of that time was good, a lot of it was not. We try to let our life experience help us to be informed in our opinions. It has been and remains, a ride! Wouldn't change a thing.
  26. melindaville
I believe I am on the cusp of being a baby boomer (born in the early 60's). You can check out my blog of recovery, hope, and inspiration at blog.melindaville.com
