Hi Guys,
New to blogging and love to make new friends and help others. I am looking for friends from all over that share some of the same interests as I do, those being Charity work, Weddings, Cooking, Recipes and daily family life.
Thanks and HAPPY BLOGGING!!!!!!!!!!

G'day,
Blog centered relationships
IMHO what's key is understanding that social networking efforts are best aimed at creating blog centered relationships with other bloggers, who have blogs that are related to your own.
BC tools, features and expertise
Blog Catalog has excellent tools, features and a community full of experienced bloggers. Members can use both the expertise provided community members and the tools to learn how to promote their blogs and how to locate other related blogs. Locating other related blogs and leaving meaningful comments is key to creating blog centered relationships, and that's exactly what social networks are aimed for.
Hanging out in forum and chatting is not fruitful
Many members posting to the BC forum do not choose to learn how to utilize the BC community and the tools provided to improve their blogs, blogging skills, and traffic to their blog via creating blog centered relationships. Instead they choose to do little more than hanging out in the forum and chatting about everything under the sun except blogging.
Profile pages, blog descriptions, categories and tags
If you click any BC username you will arrive on a Profile page where you can find the member's blogs listed. You can click on the links and visit the blogs, leave meaningful comments and form relationships with fellow BC bloggers.
Search Facilities
The search facilities here are excellent. At the top of the BC pages you will find blogs listed under categories in the "Directory" www.blogcatalog.com/directory You can also use the "Search" link at the top of every BC page and the filters in it to refine your search so you can locate blogs that are related to your own blog www.blogcatalog.com/search
Also at the top of the page you can find "Groups" www.blogcatalog.com/groups Click on "Group Directory"
www.blogcatalog.com/groups/directory Here you will find all the BC groups. You can also type into the searchbox in the top of the side bar and do a finer search or you can form a group of your own. www.blogcatalog.com/groups/create
More specific instructions can be found in this thread BC Groups - Find One Start One www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/bc-groups-find-one-start-one
Community Guidelines for Discussions
The community guidelines for posting to the General Discussion forum are found in a sticky post at the head of the forum called Read Before Posting www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/read-before-posting-
In a nutshell, all discussion posts must contain either talking points or questions aimed at initiating discussion. Note that link drop and link exchange threads are not allowed on the discussion forum. When they are posted they are reported to Admin for thread removal. Also note that there is a separate discussion forum for political topics www.blogcatalog.com/politics/discuss
Welcome to BC and I hope this helps get you off to a good start. IMO the bottom line is that the BC you experience is exactly what you choose it to be. If you are here to create blog centered relationships then go for it! -
