Did anyone else mysteriously lose followers on Blogspot, or did a bunch of people just decide they don't like me anymore?
I lost, I think, about ten people. SO if you did follow my blog, and still want to, just check to make sure you still are. I'm off to check my own dashboard to see if I've lost blogs on my own list.

Thank you for posting this discussion. I had 11 followers drop off just yesterday - I don't know who and I don't know why. I was thinking the same thing - some people just don't like me anymore.

Its not they don't like you, but sometimes people became your followers in order to have you... follow their blog back. Its good to lose them as they are not your "true" followers. I do follow some blogs and its okay if they don't follow my blog back. So do I, if someone follow my blog, I hope they do follow because they like my blog, not some sort of manual link exchange. In the end, I really appreciate all of my followers.

Hmm... I do notice few mysterious issues now, its maybe a manual mistakes/unintentionally done by the Google inc. certain errors already happens in this recent few weeks, eg: blog home turned to disappear/blank, followers avatar's slow loading, and remember of the past 30 minutes malware warning error on every Google Search? Such a mystery...

I've lost followers too but don't take it personally.
I’m not trying to conquer the blogosphere through my blog. -
yes, for some reason over night it went from oer 60 to 48. weird. i heard the smae from other people too

I have read that the old following system is being integrated with Google friend connect. It's on the Google common and resolved issues blog. Cheers.

I thought I was the only one with that problem. I was very sad yesterday. Yes we should write to admin and inform them of the emotional trauma they put us through.

I think blogspot has a hitch in their giddyaup.
I always wanted to say that
Seriously, I think they've been having a lot of problems lately - posts disappearing, HTML not working, I've received a lot of Error message when backing up, importing/exporting images not displaying right etc...
It might just be growing pains.

I's on blogger and lost two followers overnight, as well. I just thought it was just my being obnoxious or boring or something.
-
OMG - I thought it was me or maybe I smelled or something. Perhaps my kitty cat thread turned off people!
As of this morning, I lost 2 followers! I only had 12 to start with so I am sad. -
I found an answer!! from Blogspots "known issues":
knownissues.blogspot.com/search/label/outstanding
"We are in the process of integrating with Google Friend Connect, which may temporarily affect the Following feature for some users. Specifically, users who already use Following and Friend Connect may notice missing blogs in their profile, as well as a decrease in the number of public Followers on their blogs.
This is because we have set these users to "anonymous" to avoid linking the profiles of Blogger and Friend Connect users without their permission. They are still following privately and will able to make themselves public again.
After the official launch of the Friend Connect integration, we will communicate with the affected users and instruct them how to reset their relationship to public. To reiterate: the number of Followers has not changed, and we believe that the launch will improve the visibility of your blog and community. We will post more details on Blogger Buzz as the launch approaches." -

I thought the few people who actually take the time to read through my blog just said screw you, it's nice to know that isn't what happened!
-
So it looks like this discussion has helped prevent a widespread blogger self-esteem complex.
Thank goodness we all share this stuff with each other. -
I lost 10 or 11 yesterday in about an hours time. My first reaction was to feel bad, but I couldn't imagine why that many people would all of a sudden disconnect all at once. I looked at Google Analytics and Feedburner, and the numbers are steadily rising, so I just shrugged it off, but they are still missing.
Another thing is, I have to wonder, if I have lost some of the people I follow. I love all the blogs I have in my favorites, both Blogger and Wordpress (they don't have to be just Blogger blogs), which you can view in the Google Reader. I follow so many, I would have a really hard time knowing, or finding them again, if I did. -
OK, Now my Blog Catalog widgets have disappeared from my blogspot blog. This is starting to get really annoying. Is anyone else having this problem?
-
-
Who knows?
I can only follow a dozen or so blogs at a time, and I've got more than that so I'm considering dropping some, but I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings (I'm a tad codependent ya think) so I end up keeping them all and then I never look at any of them ...
In other words, don't take it personally. Maybe they're just cleaning up their dashboard???? -

I lost two yesterday, which I figured must have had something to do with recent content...still I haven't posted anything THAT controversial....
-
I lost one the other day but it didn't bother me that much. Whoever it was didn't leave any comments or anything, so not a huge disappointment.
-
I just lost three followers overnight, and I don't have that many followers to speak of. There must be a problem with blogger, considering a lot of people experienced the same thing but on the other hand, it could be coincidence that followers suddenly decided to take a hike? I wonder...

I lost about 5 followers I think ...just today..something seems to be strange. All my images showed differently in blogger images too, I have a new bunch showing up!

It is an issue with Blogger integrating Google Friend Connect. knownissues.blogspot.com/search/label/outstanding
-
Aww, yeah it looks like Blogger is just going through growing pains. They also addressed the missing posts problem, too. It'll be back to normal soon enough!
-
No problem here. Still have my 3 followers! LOL
If it wasn't for lurkers with relationship problems, my blog would be dead. -
Guess what? I found out what the problem is. This was posted day before yesterday by the Blogger team.
Hey folks,
You may have noticed the number of your public Followers has decreased over the last few hours. We are in the process of integrating with Friend Connect.
There is small set of users that already use both Blogger Following and Friend Connect. To avoid linking the profiles of Blogger and Friend Connect users without their permission, we have set these users to "anonymous". They are still following privately and will able to make themselves public again.
With the official launch of the Friend Connect integration, we will communicate with the affected users to encourage them to reset their relationship to public. To reiterate, the number of Followers has not changed, and we believe that the launch will improve the visibility of your blog and
community.
We will post more details on Blogger Buzz and here as the launch approaches.
Thanks for your patience,
Gatsby

I signed up as a follower on my own blog, just to see what it looked like. I was AMAZED to see that, on the dashboard, I could read the headers of posts that I had deleted!
Has anyone else experienced this bug? -

Blogger followers widget already changed to Google Friend Connect widget... and this widget is clearly not match (visually) with my footer layout now .
-
-
It's on this blog : myhabitathome.blogspot.com Honestly, I have no clue what friend connect is. I'm nutty and jump into things before I know what I'm doing. @Anok as if you didn't know that by now.
It is through Google. -
its like all bloggers been forced to accept and use friend connect.

I am still missing about 20
But luckily I followed everyone publicly so I should show up on everyone I followed?
Holy crap face, its not kept who I was following. -
-

Found this weird unacceptable setting, majority of the blogs that I follow are... wrongly using... follow as "anonymous" setting.
need to manually change this "anonymous" to "public" again.
login and go to blogger dashboard> click the blue MANAGE button>.. there it is, "manage the blogs I am following"> click setting if you feel like to change something -
We don't have a new widget yet, just a sad line that says "followers" and can't be clicked on. And when (if?) it comes back, how do you concact your followers and tell them to come back if you no longer have their avatar?
Drop in aprodigaltourist.blogspot.com -
I lost 5 followers. I thought it was kinda of weird because I check out their pages almost as often as I check out mine.
-
You are not losing your follower, but because they are now "automatically" following your blog as an "anonymous" (and maybe it is because of the Friend connect transition problem), so they did not appear/counted by your followers counter. Also they (your followers) maybe still did not notice about this at all.
I knew about this yesterday when I visited few blogs that I follow but my avatar was not there (in the followers widget), but my dashboard showed that I am following that blog. Thus I manually changed my anonymous to public back and my avatar was there (on the blogs that I follow) again and++ its challenge my anger (you know, the feelings... like when you are being messed up without warning/apologize).

Previously I found the followers widget changed into "Google Friend Connect" format. And I have checked to the setting of "Blog I Follow" in my blog dashboard. It was surprising me, some of my following options (to other blog)have changed from publicly to anonymously. Normally I always follow other blog in 'publicly' option (instead of anonymously). I think the only way is - if you want your lost follower avatars back - you must contact and ask them to change the setting of following options (into publicly) at their blog dashboard.

Here's the latest update from Blogger Buzz - they have responded to some of our concerns ~
