I have traveled the Middle East for the last year and I highly recommended it. The media is full of lies, the middle east is very safe.

wow, cool! I haven't been to Middle East yet, but I've been to Israel, that's the nearest I have been to Middle East... I'll set that on my list then. Dubai, is one of my list though...

the media is full of lies about everything everywhere, thats why i went to south america to see if it was so bad. i feel more threatened in england than i do over there.

I love Sta. Cruz island in Zamboanga. It is not developed or promoted as a tourist spot because the Abu Sayyaf are known to use it as jumpoff point from Zamboanga City to Basilan. It is famous for the pink sand beach. There comes a time when the red corals deep down the sea shed their outer layers, like red dust being carried by the current. These are washed ashore, and when they blend with the white sand, it gives the appearance of a pink beach from a distance. Beautiful.
    1. lyndsay82
Wow! I didn't know about that, what a shame... By the way, I am inviting you to write about it on my blog, promote it if you want... ANYONE ARE INVITED TO WRITE ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED to my blog... Feel free to do that, click:

I absolutely loved Thailand - the country, the people and don't even get me started about the food .. Bali is also a fantastic place. The national parks around Arizona left me deeply impressed. Andalusia in southern Spain is the place I decided to move to after my first visit. Now, almost 5 years later I still love it. The only thing I'm missing here is Thai food ..
  11. chrisso
Scotland is great for the outdoors in the Highlands. Hillwalking, climbing, cycling, and some really inspiring sceneries(see pics in my blogs). Then if you are a city person, don't miss Edinburgh and Stirling, great history, shopping and nightlife.
    1. htgerman
Couldn't agree more! Scotland is fascinating! It is definitely on my list of places to go back to, hopefully with a bit more time.
    2. txtface
Agree. Scotland is beautiful. Picture postcard.

I'm not much of a traveller, but I have visited several countries in Europe but the best place I have travelled to was Tasmania, and now I live here. Yey!

    I highly recommend it.
  14. theliterate
I haven't travelled so much, but I loved Paris. I don't get what people say about Parisians. I thought they were all really nice. A lot of them spoke English, and they were very friendly
  15. CrankyChick

Been writing a series of 10 posts on my recent trip to Turkey. If you stay away from the tourist traps, it's a great country to explore.

I love Marmaris, Alanya, and Anatalya,Turkey!!! I used to go clubbing in Colorado Bar in Alanya!!!
  18. NutriGirl
I am predictable. I love Paris simply because I feel beautiful in Paris and I love Bruges because I feel happy there.
  19. lyndsay82
I'm currently in Vietnam...ang peeps, this country is amazing!
    1. idealpinkrose
I've been to vietnam and I also like the place except the noisy motorcycles. I recommend you to visit Dalat and Nha trang.
  20. ushakrishnan
Lets see- lived in Dubai for 10 years and Cyprus for 4 years. But have got to say that Prague is probably the prettiest city I've ever visited (and have travelled a lot around the globe). Christmas in Prague (Capital of Czech Republic) has got to be seen to be believed; and if you go in summer, you're in for a treat as well.
  21. lyndsay82
    Hello Ideal,

    yeah i agree...and the insistent marketers...lol...

i am currently in Da Lat, it's awesome... been to Nha Trang as well, but I'm going back there since I just had my visa extended for 3months from Saigon, prolly before Christmas...

Both are my favorite places in Vietnam...I haven't been to Muine and Cat Ba, have you been there? any tips? but maybe one of these days...Thanks ideal...

    1. idealpinkrose
I only had two weeks vacation in Vietnam so I couldn't visit those places...But I heard a lot about Muine...we were supposed to go there but we couldn't have enough time...We loved Dalat so we stayed there for a long time. By the way, did you go to the Crazy house? You should visit there, too!
  22. lyndsay82
    Hello Usha,

I heard about that in Prague, but isn't it expensive there? What about backpacking in Prague? any recommended area for backpackers on a budget? I've been to the port of Cyprus, but never get to see the city, I was on duty when our ship docked in Cyprus for 7 hours...lol...

Dubai seems expensive too...although, I was about to work in Atlantis last July as a Restaurant Team Leader, but I have to leave for Bangkok, for some reasons...

Hope to hear from u again...all the tips were noted.

    Thanks.
  23. mizhelena
Greece for its carefree lifestyle.. beautiful weather..the crystal clear beaches and lovely food and hospitality
  24. radu
If you like history, Rome. Definitely. Quite expensive, is true, but is full of history and everywhere you go you see vestiges and traces of the Roman Empire.
For traditional life and pure nature, Transylvania, Romania. (check www.outdoorholiday.com) and the Danube Delta (danubedelta.blogspot.com)

    Radu
  25. lyndsay82
    Hello Mizhelena,

I agree...been to Santorini, Rhodos, Naxos, Thessaloniki...but my favorite is Santorini...Wish to go back there again...",
  26. lyndsay82
Too bad, I didn't went to see the beauty of Rome when I was living in Italy, but I will be back there one day, and will visit Vatican, Pisa, Colosseum, Romeo and Juliet's place, Florence, Venice and Milan again...
  27. SweetViolet
Five years ago I moved to South Africa. Every year we try to go someplace different and soak up a little of the local culture. Because my husband's family lives in Durban, we also go there at least once a year.

We've been through the Garden Route, the Klein Karoo, the Midlands Meander, St. Lucia (a World Heritage Site), Franschhoek (South Africa's answer to Napa and Sonoma), up the West Coast and down to the most southern point on the African continent (Point Agulhas). We still have lots of exploring to do: the Big Hole in Kimberly, Kruger National Park, Joburg and Pretoria, Gold Reef City and Sun City and so many other places!

www.flickr.com/photos/sweetviolet/ has a lot of pics of the places we've been.
  28. lyndsay82
Wow, that sounds like a very adventurous lifestyle there SweetViolet! Looking forward to try South Africa one day...
    1. SweetViolet
Now you know why I drive an SUV...a lot of the places we go are very difficult to access in a regular car!

This is a very beautiful country and I love it here. You really should put it on your list of places to visit!
  29. lyndsay82
    Yep, sure I will...
  30. frogblogger

    2. frogblogger
Hi lyndsay, fantastic place, most of the problems have been down south so it's safe here - you'll have a great time!
    3. lyndsay82
Yeah, sure I will, probably better than the last time...I wasn't in the mood of touring then...keep locked in the room, and if I did have to go out for a bit to chill out, just the Night Bizarre is my outlet to escape the 4 walls of my room...lol...
    4. idealpinkrose
wow~ i've been to Thailand and I love Bangkok! Lots of food (in Khaosan Road and Floating Market), lots of beautiful places (like Wat Arun and Golden Palace) and it's too cheap! I've never been to Chiang Mai, though hehehe...
    5. lyndsay82
Great Place though I haven't had a chance to see floating market, maybe one day since I'm going back...Chiangmai, is the place to chill out...place for nature lovers, mountains, waterfalls, and stuff...and shopping!!!!LOL...

    1. lyndsay82
What's in Siquijor? Any tips? budget areas?
  33. Cathryn101
I'm a huge fan of Kiawah Island in South Carolina. It's a golfing resort island but has much more to offer than that. The scenery and wildlife is to die for along with the 8 mile private beach. Wonderful place to visit, but a little pricey.
    1. lyndsay82
Awwww, that's the biggest downfall...:( I'm a budget traveller...needs to save up more then...

That's not a far way from Vietnam...hmmm, I think Imight consider that in the near future. Thanks shytjan!
  35. AlexGreat
Cyprus! It's like Greece but they speak English. It's the Middle East, but much more civilized. It's Turkey but better. Yet its a couple of hours by ferry from any of these places.
New Zealand, that's where I am now. Striking nature. Magical.
    1. lyndsay82
That's cool...go to be back there and explore more, I am not contented just seeing Cyprus' Port,,,lol...
  36. jonrs
I love to travel very much. Hongkong, Singapore, Bangkok, Macau, China, Australia, Egypt, Iran, and Middle East are places that I've been through. I enjoy traveling so much since photography is one of my interest. Now Im here in Dubai exploring every single tourist spots here..
    1. lyndsay82
You from Philippines jonrs? any travel tips from a pinoy travel yourself? specially from the places you've been? Thanks.
    2. jonrs
Yes, proud to be pinoy, Im a bagpack traveler. I don't bring so much stuff with me.

There are so many travelers out there but afraid to try things or explore..
My suggestion is - if you visiting any places try to learn their culture and traditions, that way you can understand more of their traditions and culture. Also you can have answers to WHY? and HOWS? Dont just take pictures and keep it for your remembrance..
    3. lyndsay82
Yeah, that's my first mistake when I started backpacking...brought 25kilo luggage with me...lmfao...geez, that's hardwork though, dragging it on bordercrossing specially to some places in Laos to Vietnam...that's a nightmare!!! lol...learned my lesson in hard way.
    4. jonrs
wow thats really hard.. you have to carry that luggage all the way to vietnam. Just bring few easy fold shirts and few shorts and pants. coz you will realize that by the time you go home you bought a lot of things...
    5. lyndsay82
I'm meeting mom in Bankok by February anyway, so I'll just ask her to bring home my excess stuff...lol...and I'll keep backpacking Southeast Asia...
    6. jonrs
that great... say hi to your mom.. lol...
I suggest find some time traveling to gulf area. Im sure you will enjoy it...
    7. lyndsay82
      Haha! yeah, I will...
  37. NutriGirl
Bruges for its magic, canals, beautiful old strees and of course, chocolate. And Paris, of course. Especially, if you are a woman - you've got to go to Paris because it makes you feel beautiful and feminine.
    1. lyndsay82
I definitely gonna go to Paris, I'll be there after 2 years...Land of great food, fashion, romantic and historic places, amazing people, etc!

  43. theresak
The most amazing place I traveled was in a little island in the Philippines called Borocay. It literally heaven on earth..Pure white sand beaches, clear, warm blue waters and the sunsets left you breathless. The moon at night and the ocean breeze. Ahhh I want to go back! Ooh I actually did a google search for it and found pictures! It's not so unknown a place anymore.
    1. lyndsay82
That's great! it still one of my dream place to visit...you see, I was born in the Philippines but haven't been there...I wrote a post about it too, and also, I already planned to go there late this year with my cousins...Thanks for that theresak!

I'm a traveling addicted! I've been in contries like Finland, Holland, Lithuania, Germany, Belgium and Spain.
I know it's not that much but it is as much as my money had let me go so far.
I loved all those destinations but I'd pick Holland as my sweetest one!
I'm probably travelling to England this summer. It will be a work trip but still very worth!
I wish I could travell at least once a year...maybe one day, I'd be able to say "I've been everywhere"
Traveling is living in full power!
    1. lyndsay82
You're still lucky hanah...most people can't travel because they have no means, or no time. it's cool you can!
  46. uniquealmeria
Hi Hanah! Great! Next time you'll be in Spain, don't miss Almeria!

      Where is it exactly?
I've been many times in Galiza and last year in Zaragoza.. Is that close?
And yes, I'm lucky.. each trip is a present...I wish travelling would be for free. The world belongs to all of us after all!
  47. uniquealmeria
It is in Andalusia (Southern Spain)! Almeria has the only Europen desert but also mountains and snow. It is a place of contrasts... This is what I am writing about in my blog...
  48. ToniTMTaylor
I love New York...the food, theaters, museums, nightlife, shopping, the comedy clubs, the people, and the pulse of the city make me feel alive whenever I vacation there.
    1. lyndsay82
Oh geez, I'm dying to go there! Too bad I just denied a visa last July, I might give a try again maybe next year...Meanwhile, I'm having a blast here in Vietnam backpacking!!!

      ok, cool..:)
  49. thetravellerreturns
Argentina is amazing, i was there for six weeks and in south america for five months, im writing a story on my blog at the moment about it. Carlos de Bariloche, Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Mar del Plata just show how diverse it is. Argentina was my overall favourite but all the countries have so much there. Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Uruguay were also equally amazing. Thailand 6 years ago blew me away too. recently i went to Bulgaria, its not on the top of anyones list but its worth seeing before it boringly gets westernised like everything else. Success.
