These studies are interesting. Perhaps we have a new genre of researchers? What do you think?

Yes, the article mentions how widely outlawed they are. I wonder if it's attempted murder to give contaminated heparin or tomatoes (or other) to people?
-
Yeah, or the U.S. beef they say is contaminated again.
Saw that on NBC Nightly News earlier tonight. Anyway, it's rare to see some positive news on those 2 things, I agree. I've done my own research and have found that many times, the researchers who "find" something negative about marijuana are often told by those who have a biased, vested interest in making sure that marijuana stays illegal. -
there's a great story about Ram Das going to see Neem Karoli Baba and giving him a large quantity of acid. He ate it and it had no effect because he was functioning outside the framework of thought.
the idea of a hallucinagen being Spiritual is miles of the truth, however, yes it does open up other areas of consciousness but not worth the trouble.

On the wet coast of Canada magic mushrooms grow all over. Used to dabble in it, make tea from time to time. It was a fun little stone, good to do with friends. There is an argument that the need to alter reality occasionally is part of what makes us human, hence the popularity throughout the ages of that most socially acceptable of drugs, alcohol. Just because it's legal or illegal doesn't mean it's any more or less harmful. It's how you as an individual handle it. Abuse any substance and you'll be in trouble.

It's entirely true. I think the news is not about overdong anything. Look at how prescription drugs are overused and potentially harmful. But, I don't need to tell anyone that, I'm sure.
I think the most interesting thing is that science is looking at some natural substances as useful - rarely done. The point is, they are looking at the possible benefits - trying to find ways to help people who hurt or who are terminally ill, and not from a synthetic pharmaceutical perspective.
