Making Money Without Talking About Making Money?

Just seems like the only way to make money is to blog about making money? Yet for every JohnChow or Shoemoney type site there are probably thousands who make a pittance and hundreds of thousands that make nothing.
I'm not looking to get rich, not even looking to make blogging a real 2nd income. I would like to simply get the occassional payout from Adsense and perhaps cobble together enough to buy a nice set of golf clubs.
I know what I need to do in the most general terms. I don't update frequently enough and often stray off topic, but overall I think I have a good niche and have posted a handful entertaining and informative pieces over the last couple months. I need to get into guest blogging I suppose. Anybody want to swap guest posts?
I've got a couple regular readers and get a fair # of emails from strangers who want to share their story about bad neighbours.
The site is stupidneighbour.blogspot.com and is generally all about the frustrations of barking dogs, fences, property lines, construction and noise.

Making money with a blog is all about getting exposure. YOu can make money with any type of blog. I do have a "make money online" blog, but before being able to write about it I had to make money with other type of blogs/website. It's possible, it just take time and efforts. I recommend you put up your own .com, it helps for credibility. Then, build backlinks and spread the word about your blog. Try to get on a writing routine whether it's one post per day or one post per week...Just stick to hit. I also recommend you get some custom template. This way your blog won't look like every other blog. Remember that for first time visitors, your blog is just like any other blog, not matter how good your content might be

If you're careful, if you offer your readers a chance to rate and review relevant products and services you could build income and generate more traffic. For instance anti-pest sonar devices, home security cams, even legal services, it's just a matter of of being selective. If you find some good products and services but the companies involved don't offer commission-based programs then try and sort out some ad deals, or better still run a tie-in competition. Sure you could get them to write an article on their own experiences for content purposes, but better still create your own email address referral contest. Your clients get some highly targeted exposure, hopefully the start of a lucrative line in niche advertisers and you both fatten up your mailing lists. Cheers - Paul.
