Topics: interesting ebay store, marketing your blog like a store, nice layout, should you do newsletters
You know - I'm not much into promoting something or much of anything - especially lately...
But I got this email today that was very remarkable and I thought I'd share it.
It's a email about and for this store - but it had some interesting notations about JEANS - especially Jeans types for CURVY women.
Anyhow - on the off chance by and by... I went by the boutique store after I read the newsletter and was very pleasantly surprised (WHICH is pretty hard for me)...
The newsletter had some information on types of clothing to wear and stay away from - including JEAN types - all the way down to the type of MATERIAL (thick or thin) and pocket design....
Things I'd never really given much thought to.
Anyhow - thought I'd share this little gem with you ladies - dunno if you like this kinda stuff - but thought it was noteworthy - as I'd never seen a store actually go out and explain things down to a T before.
I mean ---- QUESTION:
If you are curvy - or are buying something for CURVY women - Do you pay attention to fashion rules?
And do you buy HOT - IN LINE - fashions?
Did you know that pockets on the rear of jeans makes your rear end look bigger?
OK - I didn't. Never had thought about it.
The Newsletter:

and the Ebay shop...
stores.shop.ebay.com/DREAM-ADVENTURES__W0QQ_armrsZ1
It's pretty interesting how this person has designed their shop Pretty much LIKE a blog --- or in my opinion - gave it personality and concept...
Unlike other Ebayers... Which is what brought it to my attention.
In this - I think there also might be some lessons learned for marketing blogs --- and thought that this ALSO might be a good topic to discuss about MARKETING yourself.
So take a look at this place ---- NOT WITH BUYING IN MIND... (unless you want to - I'm not going to tell you NO)...
And note the ways that she/he/the group - bring you in with eyecatchy design.
Then notice how everything is drawn in - and placed into Categories.
Now notice - not only is the store for CURVY women - it is for ALL people - men, women - and so on.
Now - some of the design is Ebay created such as the Organization of categories... But rarely is there a front page layout to the store that makes me stop and wonder about it...
This one did.
And I realized - that it is part of marketing...
And just like our blogs - it is important to catch our readers IMMEDIATELY with EyeCatchy design.
Anyhow - what do you think about the way the site was set up?
And do you think that this could apply to OUR BLOGS?
And do you think - as a blog owner that you should be putting out Newletters?
Or have we stopped doing newsletters because RSS is available?

You have too many questions for discussion, so I'll just pick one:
Or have we stopped doing newsletters because RSS is available?
Good marketers focus on the collection of targeted email addresses. I personally think RSS is the opposite of available, but a dying point. People are getting their news from sites directly or from social media referrals and not their inbound feed readers. It's almost like a full circle.
> people go to sites (bookmarks)
> sites go to people when updated (RSS)
> people go to the cloud to see referred sites (tweets/social media)
But - people get lost in the clouds, and still want that safety net of email (just in case) so they don't miss anything. Newsletters, (basically RSS for the Email) and daily updates is the way for some to keep in touch, read multiple updates in one sitting, get updates passed along to their phones where they can access anywhere even without the internet, etc etc etc.-
Right - but I'm seeing also a lot of going back to mainstream newsletters as being more productive.
Or a Recap - instead of a full RSS.
In this particular instance this group went with an all out informational newsletter with items that pertained to their shop - but not necessarily an ADVERTISEMENT newsletter.
Does that make sense?
In other words as the examples stated: Newsletter discussed fashion to dos... But didn't say - HERE ARE THE JEANS YOU WANT.
It was, in my opinion - a very good marketing technique.
And I so agree people are getting lost in the clouds.
There is just way too much to choose from, which again - is why I found this newsletter kind of fascinating - is that they discussed one main topic and provided links to the store to allow the reader to "go mental shopping".
Pretty neat connections if you ask me - especially from a smaller boutique type of store.
