John McCain's running a new ad comparing Barack Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. The problem here is that Britney's words sound more like McCain's:

BRITNEY: Honestly, I think we should just trust our president in every decision he makes and should just support that, you know, and be faithful in what happens.

JOHNNY: No one has supported President Bush on Iraq more than I have... Let me emphasize that there are many national security issues that I have strongly supported the president and steadfastly so.

Oops, he did it again!

"On the transcendent issues, the most important issues of our day, I've been totally in agreement and support of President Bush"

      What, no substantial argument?

      Wow, there's a shocker...

I can bet this guy is a huge Obama supporter.

    Leave Obama alone!

That ad that starts with Paris Hilton is a piece of work. Besides trying to put Obama down for celeb status, seems to me they're also trying to juxtapose a blond white woman and black man in a way to make racists take notice. And then there's the whole German crowd thing, another subconscious image being worked on, I guess to imply Democrats are fascists or something. All courtesy of the campaign team that brought us Bush in 2004. Even stranger, McCain wants to paint Obama as out of touch. www.nytimes.com/2008/07/31/us/politics/31campaign.html?ex=1375243200&en=217...

Racists would not even think of voting for Obama-so why would the ad makers "aim" the ad towards them. You sound more like Al Sharpton than Mark Stone.

If you're going to attempt to insult me, at least get my name right.

Edited to add: Your logic might appear to make sense, but what about the associations made in attacks on Harold Ford?
  7. caseybmyers
It is the Obama campaign that is dropping the race-card again, not McCain.
    1. clioandme
Really? I haven't seen any indication of that. Just because I'm seeing it doesn't mean the Obama campaign is making an issue of it. I doubt they would be.
  8. caseybmyers
Sorry, I thought Mark Stone was your name and the "man" part was to signify that you were a man. I would agree that the Obama campaign has not made race an issue when they could have against the Clinton campaign, but they did drop the race card as of Wednesday. Sorry about the name thing.

I have blogs and a profile page.

How did they "drop the race card" on Wed? And source it please.
  9. caseybmyers
I will read your profile soon--give me a few on the source.

"McCain Camp Accuses Obama of Race-Baiting" isn't the same as "Obama Engages in Race-Baiting."

What's great is that you miss the first part of one of the quotes on that page:

That's not the debate we're getting out of John McCain right now. He's spending an awful lot of time talking about me. You notice that? I haven't seen an ad yet where he talks about what he's gonna do. And the reason is because those folks know they don't have any good answers, they know they've had their turn over the last eight years and made a mess of things. They know that you're not real happy with them. And so the only way they figure they're going to win this election is if they make you scared of me. So what they're saying is, 'Well, we know we're not very good but you can't risk electing Obama. You know, he's new, he doesn't look like the other presidents on the currency. He's got a funny name.' I mean, that's basically the argument -- he's too risky.

You know, it sounds pretty accurate to me. What's really hilarious here is that McCain answers Obama's charge that McCain doesn't talk about McCain by talking about Obama -- again.

I'm sorry John, did you just see something huge fly over your head? He's certainly clueless as Britney.

Harold Ford is one my favorite Demos. What attacks?

McCain has a son that is serving in Iraq and has a bi-racial adopted daughter.
No one can accuse him of not having a kid in the military and being a racist.
  12. drjay1966
McCain has the people who made the racist attack on his daughter in South Carolina in 2000 working for him now.
That is a man without a soul, and without integrity.
    1. Wisco
Don't try to convince Casey of that. If he tried to wrap his mind around the Godlike Bush using racist smears against the Godlike McCain, his rubber head would explode.

That seems to be the case more often than not.
    1. clioandme
Yeah, it is funny how he adopted Obama's number. And it will be interesting to see if he can control his verbal diarrhea. Haven't noticed that happening yet.
    2. satijournal
He's going to look like a fool during the debates.
    3. Wisco
I should set up a pool on how often he contradicts himself during debates. Too bad gambling's illegal here in Wisconsin.
