Not really the answer you're looking for... no haven't met anything but a new friend, yes... not dating. I met one of my regular readers who has a similiar background as I do... former fundie... Glad I did, but not someone I'm dating.

I posted a similar question back in the 90's asking people have they ever met someone on a messge board or forum, the responses were amazing I had plenty replies, but because blogging is new.I though some people may have met the future someone special on a blog

I've met people but not for romantic or sexual reasons.
I know a couple who met online and are quite happily living in Hawaii now though. A dude I read with a doctorate in marine biology, from Maine when I started reading him and with a penchant for writing and trumpets met his significant other a couple years ago by reading her comments on a blog he also commented on. She was from the coast of Washington. Less than two years later he is off to a position at the U of Hawaii and she with him. They now live blissfully together .... I was reading him as this was happening. They are in their late forties or early fifties.

I know three couples who met online. They all met in forums and all of them lived in different countries. They met face-to-face early on in their relationships and also recommend that others do that too. Eventually they became married and they are all very happy.

For 15 years I ran an irc over-30s channel that was Australian-based, but open to anyone in the world who could type English fast enough. In that time there were 37 weddings within the channel, 24 where the bride and groom both lived in the one country, and 13 weddings where either the bride or groom had to emigrate.

I've not heard of weddings in the blogging world (yet) for several reasons:
    1. Blog conversations are public. Private messages back and forward between people are not really possible.
    2. Blog conversations are slower. It may take hours or days before you get a response to your comments.
    3. IRC channel dinners are easy to organise (in Melbourne, Amsterdam or Montreal for example) because a real "community" of friends has developed. Blogging may not create that same sense of community.

Having said all that, there are some wonderful minds in the blogging world *sigh*... I would love to meet them.

I have not met anyone for that reason, but met lots of friends.

I know a few folk that have met via blogging and got together.
