i read somewhere that money can buy you happiness depending on what side of the world you are living...if you come from a developing country like ours, of course, the main basic thing that each person will think of is money to buy you food...if you are living in a developed/advanced country, i think it is otherwise...what do you think? what can you say about this?

It pays the bills. Once they're out the way I can sit back and contemplate my navel. All in all having money makes me happier than not having money

it doesn't cause happiness in my opinion. It makes certain aspects of your life more managable though. It has to do a lot with our perception of money and how we feel it serves us, what its purpose is.
To me, I don't attain peace of mind from my bank account. When I get money worries i have faith and i take action, then I throw the worry out the window. I live simply and not beyond my means.
Whatever financial situation you are in, i believe we should live with gratitude and realize happiness is a choice and cannot be obtained from an external means.
AMEN!

Money Can't Buy You Happiness
Ain't that the truth. Tell that to Paul McCartney.
However, money can buy you a one legged pirate...and her name is Heather Mills. -

Ekim, my father made his living in construction all my life, and my first job was cleaning up shingles on roofing jobs. My uncle and cousin own a construction company, and my husband managed a warehouse for a cable construction company. And I have a firm conviction that real men don't wear suits. My generalizations definitely don't come from stereotypes and don't involve not being smart...but in all those years of all those exposures...yeah...I've seen a lot of cheap beer.

I think there is a certain amount of care and nurturing people need to be happy. Not too many homeless, starving people are real content with their situations.
But then once people get their basic needs met, money is relatively minor. We imagine happiness will come from money, but it usually doesn't. -
I definitely don't think that money can bring happiness, but the absence of money can be an obstacle to happiness. Not being able to fulfill your obligations is stressful, and I don't know too many people who are happy while getting dozens of calls a day from bill collectors, waiting for the car to get repossessed, and trying to decide whether to buy groceries or keep the utilities on.
