We are working on packing and things are getting crowded in my living room. I know I'm not as organized as I would like to be.

I need a little help creating a moving checklist.

Have any ideas?

FYI I will be posting your statement on my blog and please make sure you leave one link to one blog so I can give you some link love too.

I know every time I moved, I worried about remembering to shut off all the utilities.

Electric, gas, cable, water, phone, etc.

I think you already have a link for the thrift blog Cabbages good? That's a good tip.

You don't have to give me any link, Shirley. I've just moved quite a bit over the years and know checklists like that save the sanity!

I was just thinking about you the other day after watching a bit about Habitat on our news, wondering if you had moved yet. I so suck at organizing. I just jot down notes when I think of something that needs to be done. One thing I have found helpful is to hold out enough eating utensils for moving day so you you will at least be able to have some sort of dinner, even if it's take out. When everything gets packed it can be a pain to dig around to find something to eat off of.

In three months we begin the build. Our framing, (cross fingers, toes, legs, eyes, arms, knock on wood) depending on weather, goes up Sept 21st. I'm nervous about that though. WV has been getting an awful lot of rain lately so that could bump us back. I'm more than sure though we will be "home for Christmas." Pun intended.

That's good too. We are going to styrofoam and plastic soon.

Do you have a garden Shiley? Once when moving I completely forgot everything my garden!

    Write it down

Oh, that's funny! Lol! No garden yet. I made a point of never turning the projects into a permanent situation. I never wanted my kids to put their roots down here. (No pun intended this time)

I know too many people that live here that don't want to reach out any further than this it's kind of sad.

Don't forget to label all the boxes so anytime you need things you know where to get them. Also, don't forget to put the valuable things altogether and put in your car.

Good point. I was just wondering what to do w/ that stuff.
