What do y'all think would be some good music to have playing during a small dinner party?

Here's the setting: We're 35 yrs old and the four guests are 25-30 yrs old. We're serving Greek food. I have some Greek music and want some other ideas that are more "hip". I have time to download any good ones that I don't have.

Opera can set an incredible atmosphere.

Could always just put on some Grateful Dead, lol.

Good call on the opera for when we sit down. I even have some Maria Callas (Greek singer). Don't temp me on the Dead. They might make a cameo...

Keep the background music in the background and enjoy the conversation. I like mild music in the background at a dinner party, nothing too distracting....I'm also getting old LOL

I don't know Chicane, what type of music is it?

After Callas or when the coffee is served why not try the transcendent Gigi Shibabaw, especially her Abyssinia Infinite / Zion Roots album. Easy to play on the background because very modern and timeless at the same time and she's easy to digest even if you were not particularly a great fan of Ethiopian music. Enjoy the party!
