Does anyone read about music theory? I find it pretty interesting. I have not seen many blogs on this topic. I turned it into a trivia and fact blog.

Some people have a natural gift for playing by ear music, which they have heard, sometimes with a remarkable degree of accuracy. Those who do not possess this gift may, with practice, acquire sufficient skill to enable them to harmonize melodies, and possibly to attempt simple composition, at the piano. To attain this skill, some knowledge of harmonic progression is necessary. -
your blog is sweet! i'm an opera performance and music history double major, so i've taken LOTS and LOTS of theory... i hated it at first, but knowing it makes it SO much easier for me to learn music now.
great idea :-)-
Hey, cool! I'm a performance major too.
I liked music theory, but I found that a lot of the stuff we learned was only directly applicable if you wanted to write music that sounded like Mozart. Later when I studied composition I had to break all the rules to create anything orignal anyway. But I guess it's good to know about the rules so you know when you're breaking them.
