   How did you do it? Im blogging since about July and none of my 12 blogs are below a few million on the Alexa ranking.
   
   I write all my own content also and have almost 300 posts on my trivia blog now.

   WHO CARES. Alexa is broken. It's easily cheated. It's inaccurate and, in a word, retarded. And you SEO types keep right on pushing the thing like it's Internet marketer crack.

   I am not sure it is totally broken. Google is high on Alexa and it does get the most hits. The top Alexa sites seem about right.
   
   I think it helps to let you know if you blog is growing. Mine started about at 8 million in rank now about 4 million. I do get more hits so it seems like it tracks it in the right direction at least.

      It depends on how many visits you get with their toolbar attached, or redirected through their site. That's the only way Alexa has of measuring anything, which is why it's broken. It's great for the top 10 or 15 sites, and crap for everything else.

   idk how I got it, probably blind luck lol. I get like 90 percent of my traffic from stumbleupon so maybe alexa likes that. I don't have alot of links to my site yet so it can't be that, though i'm sure it helps.

    My rank is 270,123, after I was at 100,000 and getting ready for the 5 digits, it dropped to 300,000 - 400,000.
    
    In the last 3 months I managed to get it back up at 270,123, and the rest is just hard work every day.
    
    I'm talking about my main SEO blog, blog.butterflymedia.ro.

    I actually made it to the five digits but then they changed their formula again and I am back up to 102,117. I have the Alexa toolbar installed and have been publishing and promoting my blog fairly consistently for about a year and a half now

       your Alexa ranking is 4,815,776
       
       You can go to www.alexa.com and download the Alexa toolbar which will show you the Alexa rank for every site you visit. Intalling the tool bar also will slowly cause your rank to rise. Regularly updated quality content and (I think) quality incoming links also count but I have never actually Understood their formula

    My alexa rank went up like crazy about a month ago, from higher than a million to about 270 000...sadly enough, it's dropping again (now it's about 410 000), but it was fun while it lasted, lol.

    wow this post kind of came back from the dead, that's cool. In the last month and a half, my site has gone from over 4 million to 211,000 but because it's only been around for a month and a half, the ranking is based on a three month ranking. So essentially for a month and a half I've had zero visits. Hopefully it should go up alot in the next couple weeks.
