Topics: goodbye, moving
Hi everyone!
I just got a notice that our Blog Membership is ending today and due to our plates being full we will not be renewing.
Rory and I are putting our house up for sale today, arranging an estate sale and will be packing up what we have left and heading out west.
So I want to thank everyone for an enjoyable time here and I will stay in touch with a few!
My Sunny blog will still be active

Cathy-I knew you were moving away, but I hoped it wouldn't be from BC as well. I mean this sincerely: I'll miss you.
And I don't understand: how can a blog membership end? I never knew you had to renew. -
-
Cathy - your PAID membership?
Blogcatalog is FREE honey - you Don't HAVE to pay. Paying only gives you the knowledge that you're supporting BC. And you get some terrific stats.
But 98% of the community does not pay to stay here.
It's a FREE community.
And your blog is on a freebie host - right?
So - that won't change.
If you're moving - I totally understand - cause I'll be doing the same thing as soon as my condo sells - our buyer fell through. And we don't have anyone else in mind at the moment...... SO IT COULD BE FOREVER!
Anyhow - no matter what Cathy - I wish you and your sweet, kind husband a wonderful time...
And I hope hope hope that you come back here as soon as you are able to.
When I move - I'll only be offline for the amount of time it takes to get across the country - and have electricity and cable set up. LMAO - screw the house - I need my internet.
LOVE you kiddo - and I'll think of you often if you go for a bit - but I'll hope that you find a way to stay.
HUGS - and much HOPE for you!

Ps. IF you are paying - you have the OPTION to NOT renew - OK?
It is not mandatory - and you'll only notice that there are no adverts... OK?
IF that is the only reason - You can just keep your little rear end here. -
Well don't I feel silly!
I don't remember who told us that but that is the impression we have been under all this time and the reason we were paying the membership!
Here I thought this was my big swan song so I told Petlvr he was an asshole!!!!!! -
Well if it is free!!!!!! *shakes head feeling foolish*
We will be offline for a while though. You can contact me through my blog if you would like!
Maybe I will start a new blog!
Rory & Cathy's Excellent Adventure!
PLEASE DISREGARD THIS POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-
Nah - not cause you did something silly - IT IS because you're a sweet, kind, wonderful woman who has a GREAT sense of humor and is absolutely adorable...
And you were soooo sooo worried about missing all of us - it gave me those warm fuzzies that you cared so much.
I don't think you are an idiot.
But I do think it was hilarious - and it made me like you that much more.
SO there - neeener neener.
(PS. Besides - if I'm going to be totally honest... It's something I would have done... LOL! So you're not alone in doing silly things... HUGS!)

Cathy--I am so glad you are staying--this place needs more of your type of energy and less of the passive-aggressive, bullying behavior that we have been seeing in the last few days.
I've made some big errors in judgment recently--and one was supporting a couple of members return to this forum who have shown nothing but horrific behavior. I'd love a 'do-over' right about now!-
Yup. I expected nothing good would come of that.
But what I don't understand is why Admin turns a blind eye...and scolds (or suspends) anyone who has the audacity to point out the transgressions! What's up with that??
I'm also glad Cathy is staying, even if she'll be too busy to participate much for a while. Hope to see her (and Rory) back on the threads sooner rather than later.

One reason could be that there are employment opportunities out west that do not exist in other parts of the country. Another reason could be that west is less populated and has developed a completely different culture in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria than what what one would find in, for example, Toronto or Montreal.

60% of the job opportunities posted on the internet for my career specialty is in Calgary. Oil and Gas is hiring ... even though I do not have experience in the Industry.
Companies aren't going to short list people outside of their immediate geographic area if they get a few qualified candidates locally ... so, I need to be there to get considered.
Then again, I'm not sure if I want to stay within my "specialty".

Phew! I got scared for 3 minutes, first reading your shout then reading this. I'm really glad WW told you that the membership is free. I would have missed you and Rory terribly if you left for good. Good luck with the move and we WILL see you after you settle in Calgary! No excuses!
