"My Design is Beautifully Ripped Off" and I don't know how to stop this..

I've posted an article about Round Corner Photoshop Brushes (in October 24, 2007) which I provide 7 photoshop art brushes set and they are free to download
graphic-identity.blogspot.com/2007/10/round-corner-square-photoshop-brushes...

Look what these people done with them:

multihunter.com/v/95346
warezd.blogcu.com/PhotoShop/
warezd.blogcu.com/4443632/

They simply erased my watermark tags on my preview image of that brushes, no linking-back and oh what a foolish thing to do...

Anyone has the same experience? please share it with me...

Geeze! No I don't have that experience. But, based on this occuring would never provide a free download in the future! Also, people can copy and paste photos pretty easily as well, so saving it in a format that protect people from being able to do that would be helpful. What I've seen other websites do is at least request an email, so then you can track the request. But, legally I'm not sure what else you can do. An email to the people to at least provide a credit and linkback? Good luck with that. Follow up could go far.

That really sucks..the original website multihunter is where the other 2 got it from. They didn't even erase your watermark they blacked out part of it. Multihunter even has a disclaimer stating they don't use copyrighted content lol....I'd be sending them a cease and desist real fast.

    That really sucks!

Looks like the first link isn't actually hosting the brushes, just the images. And there's probably nothing you can do about the other ones.

Yeah, I suggest making your watermark a lot bigger in the future. I know some other graphic artists who've had to do that.

Thank you Charleen...I would give a try for that next time even email auto- responder is usefull to prevent this action, we can not be sure how this kind of copycat can be stoped.

What a CC License can do to protect a design?

@Jenny: bigger watermark -- thats a gud idea...

I am not an attorney, but you can ask them to remove your designs. If they decline, you might want to speak to a intellectual property rights attorney. Copyrights generally protect people as long as you can demonstrate first usage.

Yeah...you are right. Perhaps my CC License should be best viewed in my design post. Really appriciate your good advice!

Thanks for posting this. I recently uploaded a buttload of images to my blog that i had taken at a performance yesterday and want credit for if people choose to redistribute them.\. I searched cc license and was able to find a site to limit what viewers can do to/with my images/posts. So, basically, i cant help you with your situation but it taught me a lesson lol.

Yup, at the right-bottom image preview...too small to see.. could it be ERNGAVER or something? Carefully compare to my original preview on my blog if you need to.

Anyone knows where are they come from? I don't even understand the language that they use ;p

Honestly, you can intimidate the thieves and tell them that you are going to press charges for copyright infringement.

With ads on the first site they are making money off the page that means. That's a case for a nice lawsuit there.

They have lawyers that deal with that I am sure. Ask Google who they use for copyright problems and then call that lawyer. You know they have to use the best in country.

damn that sucks. It bothers me that people are so willing to rip others off.

They should have a company online with a website that you can just write to and file a complaint about this type of problem. Most people don't really know what to do. It is long overdue and needed.
