I left my new Blackberry 8230 Flip phone in my pants pocket and it went through the wash this morning .. then the dryer ... It was about halfway through the drying mode when the back must have flown off and battery fell out and same with its built in 2GB flash card ..
QUESTION:
Do you think my phone will ever work again?
YES or NO
Bonus answer:
um, any tips will be appreciated if you are experiences with washing your cell phones

it was in the dryer for about 40 minutes at least before we noticed it -and seemed completely dry.
When I put it back together, it did not start ... I plugged it in and looked on the internet and saw a suggestion never to plug it in until it's completely dry, so it's unplugged and sitting in pieces right now. I will put it together later tonite or tomorrow - but, I think my glass is half empty at the moment.

Well speaking from a women who goes thru a phone about every 2 months or so..mine has been dropped in the toilet(by my girls) and the bath tub (by my girls),also left on the hood(while I've buckled my girls in) I have learned a few tricks, but only temp fixes, and haven't washed my phone either(so not sure this will work...
Take it apart, batt, sim card, and SD card. Turn it to where the screen side is down, take a blow dryer put it on low heat and dry it. It might take a couple of days to get it totally dry. If after 2 days or so there are stiill water droplets on the screen, pretty much lost cause... -
Your phone was not only soaked and heated, but it was also cooked and bounced around for 40 minutes. I've dropped my phones a few times, and sometimes a drop is enought to KO it. Your phone just went through the drop cycle over 100 times and then pressure cooked on top of that. It just might be dead.

Oh yea if it's a lost cause you should definately upgrade to a 3g,with the android market....I have a g1 from tmobile...its AWESOME, also don't buy anything that's all touch screen bc the keyboard is way too small. Your thumbs never hits the right letters....
PS DEFINATELY get the insurance. A warranty does not cover water damage -
I vote YES it will work again. I'm guessing that you're by now willing to accept the fact that it might not, but that your data might still be recovered. I'd bet even more on that with the right help. Sorry, I don't know who that is, though.
