I had Jay delete the last thread due to it going completely crazy! I hope this one stays on subject.
I have already walked 300 miles across Oregon. I had to come back because of a injury to my foot. I am in southern Oregon and the doctor has given me the green light to get back on the trail. I will be leaving on a bus back to Pendleton OR as soon I gain more sponsorship. The man I was walking with (Dan Lynos) does not have the money needed to complete the full trip. This is a very sad thing because having someone to walk with makes a huge difference. Dan is a amazing guy. He has walked across America coast to coast 4 times for different causes. Having someone to talk to relay breaks monotony. I just might end up getting a soccer ball, painting a face on it and naming him Wilson.
This trip has been the most amazing experience of my life. A trip like this will change who you are. As you walk and walk for endless miles you have plenty of time to consider who you are. Just try to visualize getting up every mourning, packing your home into a backpack and then taking off into the sunrise, walking to an end that is far from being reached. You are exposed to everything and everyone around you. When it rains you get wet; when it is 110F you get hot; when you are thirsty you have to search for water. At the end of the long day you set up camp and you are consumed by the feeling of absolute hunger and tiredness. You then wake up the next day and do it all over. Your life becomes something so simplistic that you could be driven to a point of insanity. The highway is a vary crazy place to walk. There is a countless number of things that can go wrong on the road. Around every corner there is something that could end your life if you are not wise about every step you take. I have learned to respect and appreciate everything I have.
