From a business standpoint they both are free and drive business to your blog or whatever your advertising. The ROI on them can't be beat. I use them both to advertise my website.

Thanks for posting that link Kelly. It sounds like a great plug-in and it's certainly needed.

Do you tell Facebook everything? wolfshowl.com/2008/01/03/do-you-tell-facebook-everything/

MySpace has brought me some good sticky traffic. I haven't explored Facebook and am a little put off by what I have heard about their experiments with cookies, tracking users browsing habits and using them in ads directed to "friends."

I am thinking about learning how Myspace and Facebook work. I might check out a few books and read up on them before attempting to build a page. I think Myspace is much more popular.

Facebook is about the add-on programs. There are some fun/silly ones. Some of them can be rather involved. It gets a bit overwhelming quickly.

MySpace . . . it's taken a while to build up my page.

Hmm, I hadn't thought of devoting a MySpace/Facebook page for my blog until recently. I'll check out a few of your sites!

    *Gawd, more work*

Myspace used to provide a fair bit of client work for me which is great, but as of late it seems crap. Has done for a while now. If you removed the utter garbage that is spam and hackers from myspace, the traffic on that site would probably halve!

Facebook isnt that great for web promotion, (at least i dont think so), as its more aimed at friends and family. I actually really like FB as a general social tool, especially for the photo galleries and event organising. However, they ruined the whole thing the minute they allowed "third party" applications. The amount of spam and annoying games or apps is getting crazy.

Aight I'm a hardcore plogging from my HTC phone right now at work. Now I understand facebook is aimed toward friends but let me tell you a little secret. For 50.00 at .33 cpc is given me 20,000 impressions . Now if the add get attention , imagine the traffic you can get. How you ask, scroll to the bottom to the advertise section of facebook and find out how.

I don't use any of them- I simply don't like this sort of social networking for everybody with no real purpose

I use MySpace. I like it, but I've never used Facebook. I'm not going to leave a link because it has pictures and location on it that I don't want any/all of BlogCatalog to see.

MySpace can get you a lot of traffic. I am sure facebook can too. But who has the time to dedicate to all the possible networking sites..lol

    I only use Myspace.
What I know of Facebook is that it's used to keep contacts with friends and family. And that no one can see your profile unless they add you (right?).

Myspace is more public, so if you want traffic, I guess Myspace is the way to go! And there's tons of great groups Plus, if your blog is personal, wouldn't want your friends to see it would ya?
