Need a Small Favour!!

Hi Everyone...

My hubby and I just bought a new sports car and HE doesn't think I should be allowed to drive it...

I started a poll on my site - just for fun - to help settle the argument, but now my husband has been getting all his friends to vote and things are heating up at my house (he's laughing at me, I'm going to lose a poll on my OWN BLOG!!)

If anyone could take a minute and head over to vote "yes" on my poll, I'd be very grateful...MY PRIDE IS AT STAKE!!!

("thedude" doesn't have to vote, cause I've read his blog, and he'd probably side against me) :-)

  I willing to bet that I will drive safer than him! I told him I thought we should get insurance on the loan, you know just in case. He shrugs. I say, well what if something happens to you, I won't want to keep two cars! He says "don't worry, if I die, I will in the car!"

Ok maybe a little more information would be useful, like what kind of sportscar. If say said sportscar is a Miata or Chrysler Sebring [sic] than maybe it should be easy to get him to give up the keys, because maybe he is not aware of the chick car factor. Seeing as you desire the wheels maybe he should check whether or not he chose correctly. Now if we're talking Vette, Viper, 350Z, or something of that magnitude I car of that magnitude could be a very personal statement and you may be infringing on man space. Yes I said man space. Guys dream of the ultimate car since they are able to walk, the car may be more important to him than you think. Before you shoot me for being sexist think about what the car means to him and why he is so likely to fight for its exclusivity.

Theres my two cents.

  OK its an Infinity G35, 6 speed manual... our other car it is a Dodge Grand Caravan. Which he doesn't like so much... The last few years I've been driving the minivan and he's been driving an old rusty ford escort, so he thinks he's due to drive the "new car"
  
  oh and in all fairness, I probably should mention - a couple of months ago I cut a corner in the parking garage at work and um ripped the side out the mini van (oops)... HEY could have happened to anyone! So now he is worried. But I'm really a good driver. AND the new car will have 4 wheel steering, which should REALLY help out in the parking garage!! :-)
  
  I don't want to drive it 100% of the time... I just want to have a turn once in a while...

He couldn't speak, he was laughing too hard.... I joined the GM forum to defend myself.... I did have a bit of trouble because the security question to register was "How many cylinders does a V6 have?".... I had to ask for help.... (yeah - well, how many tablespoons are in a cup - huh? HUH???)

All I can do now is sit back and hope that there aren't that many users in the GM forum....funny thing is this started out as a game, but somewhere along the line, it got serious, and we are going to go with the results of the poll - so a lot is at stake...

That's a good question Terence... in the beginning, I thought, "it's my poll, I'll just stop it when I'm winning"... but now it seems to have attracted so much attention, I am going to run it until the end of the day tomorrow and then pull the plug....

  uh yeah...he's been on here and read through all your comments. He thinks its funny. But he is a little worried about the outcome. I'm sure he will spend most of the day canvassing for votes, and not too much time working... :-)...

So I thought this was such an ingenious idea I decided to do something more permanent, I bought spousebattle.com and put up a blog just for domestic dispute voting. Much props to WithyWife and you got the sites first pingback. I am going to try and solicit other people's arguments here at work and see what I can come up with.
