Christmas is fast approaching and I'm still at a loss for gift ideas. My boyfriend of 9 years already has everything he could ever want. He's also very financially secure so if he doesn't already have it, he has the means to go out and buy it or I've given it to him previously. Needless to say, this makes Christmas and birthday shopping a very difficult feat for the little woman (me).

We're travelling a great distance to spend the holidays together visiting family in our mutual home town. Problem is, the town is very small and doesn't offer much in the way of outings and malls and the like so I'd like to get my shopping done while I'm in the city.

I'm turning to you all for help. Guys, what kind of gifts would you like to receive from your women? And don't be smartasses...I'm not giving him a Porche. Ladies, what would be a great gift idea for a man who already has everything?

Please help before the cranky Canuck gets even crankier. :S

I have the same problem with my husband.... so I am interested.
Usually, I offer things that he absolutly does not need :-)), like last year it was a beautiful leather journal ( he is a computer person *lol*). But I was surprised to see that one day( 3 months laters), he started using it to write a very special project he had.

The new Sony Reader that comes out soon would be nice.

What about a nice romantic weekend away trip for just the two of you to rekindle the flame? You could wrap up a travel brochure and surprise him with that Christmas morning.

My husband and I love our little "times away" from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

    Hope that helps.

Can you give us a little more insight into what his interests are? What are his favorite things to do in his spare time?

He's a sports nut, especailly hockey. Loves the Montreal Canadiens but we're already planning a weekend in Montreal in February to see a game at Centre Bell. Ummm...he likes electronics and do-dads like that. Likes to travel, loves the outdoors, plays golf, plays computer/video games, likes live music and concerts.

Instead of buying him something, how about arranging something romantic for the two of you. You need not buy anything to produce a gift. One time I made a voucher for my husband entitling him to a full body massage 3 nights a week for a month. I made the voucher myself. Stuffs like that.

My boyfriend liked the "Serius Satellite Radio" with a subscription I bought for him for his car. I had the same problem last year and came up with that.

Your time. The man who has everything does not want material things..mostly affection and attention are needed in order for them to be delighted....and love is the greatest gift of all!
