need help with sidebar code

i would like to get a sidebar look as on hypebeast.com/blog/phillipannand/

I use blogger, cause anyone know how to code so there is a gray section on the sidebar

    But you didn't give a link to your own blog. I mean, usually you go to Layout, then click on Fonts and Colors and change the sidebar color.

    But if you mean only certain parts of the sidebar, you can try this trick that lets you put in the background of widgets any picture you upload to the internet:
