I was thinking about doing something like this on a large scale (roughly 3x4',) so I did it small scale to get an idea for how it would look. What do you think?

I like it. I was once told I should never comment on an abstract but I'm going to anyway. It reminds me of a dam about to break. I know, I know an abstract just is but darn it people see faces on the tile of the floor and Jesus in bread and sell it on Ebay.

Never comment on an abstract? Really? I've never heard that. Regardless, I invited comment & appreciate your input.

Yup, worked in an art museum once and I commented on a Jackson Pollack and an art snob was around a corner. "It just is. It's a matter of the artists expression. It's an abstract not a Monet." SNOB

      Dang...BC ate my comment AGAIN!
I'm sorry you had that experience. Art snobs suck & that was an asinine thing for them to say.

I liked it. My 5 year old has a fear of abstract paintings because the one at the Dr office behind the counter looks like a giant flaming monster to him. I see a sun set but he keeps hollering out that monster is going to get us help. The nurses laugh.

Reminds me of a friend of mine who saw warring armies...in a non-abstract painting of a freaking killer whale. I think mushrooms might have been involved, or something. *L*

This piece shows your ability to balance everything wonderfully. Good job.

      Thanks much.

It is beautiful. I think you will appreciate abstract painting if you let it operate in the realm of pure emotion...while shutting all mental facilities all together.

Thanks again. I do sometimes just "wing it" (leaving mental processes out,) but, to be honest, I don't tend to prefer those works (nor do many others.)

It kinda looks like a Dragon Fly. I paint as well but not abstract. It's def a painting I could look at for a while. At first it seems very warm then evokes other emotions as I look at it longer. Good job.

It's very delicate, like a Japanese print. I like the design. It gives a sense of open space.

Thanks. I get a fair amount of feedback stating that many of my works have an "Eastern" feel.
