I am working on another blog and am now in the final stages of design.
dungeon.ballweb.org
I need to tweak a couple of the font sizes and I plan on replacing the gradient background image with another simple design.
But I thought it would be better to ask for comments before I go any further to make sure that I am on a good course.

Thanks for the suggestions.
@sjay
I made the header graphic a little darker.
@handmadesilver
I changed the header so that it now scrolls with the rest of the page. I agree with your statements on your blog, silver does work well for most people. Depending on your skin tone, yellow metals like gold may not work well, but silver being greyish (a neutral not a color) doesn't really conflict with skin tones or clothing colors. Good luck with your blog.
If there are any other comments / criticisms, I would be happy to take them into consideration. Keep in mind that I am still trying to decide what to do about the background (the greyish gradient in the background). I want something a little less plain, but still non-obtrusive. -
Fair enough. What about the color scheme (i.e. one specific color, the blue and gold in combination, etc.)?

blue being my favorite color and gold the metal i die for i say okay. nothing against you or your blog but i am being honest and last i looked it reminded me of movies like ron burgundy, little miss sunshine and 70s wallpaper because you have too many colors going on. my advice is to pick muted colors and let your content speak for itself. would love to see it again when you are ready.

Thanks for the honest critique. I am working on some of the link / button colors now and that should limit the colors further.
Also, I am not satisfied with the background and feel that it clashes with everything else. I will remove the blue and switch to silver. Hopefully that will limit the colors so that other people that encounter my site don't immediately think porn.

Thanks again, I agree that the color looked washed out. It looked okay in Gimp when I was designing the images, but I think it was applying a gamma correction. I have removed some of the green and added more saturation.
I am in the process of finding a font color that works well on it now and have switched the background to black for the time being. -
Thanks for all of the feedback.
Since the three biggest problems reported seemed to be that the colors were washed out, there were too many colors, and the theme itself was ugly I have done the following.
1) Reduced the number of colors being used.
2) Increased the saturation of the colors that remained.
3) Switched to a different layout.
I'm sure that there are still a lot of changes that I could make to it at this point, but I believe that I have addressed (at least partially) the biggest concerns and need to focus on content. The best looking blog in the world is useless if there are no articles.
Again, thanks for all of the advice.-
No problem, I'm pretty thick skinned so even weblogian's "kindergarten drawing" comment bounced off.
In retrospect, the old design did look pretty horrible.
I actually posted an article yesterday night just so something would be up there. I hope to have another article posted tomorrow (assuming I can find the data cable for my camera).

I like how you have darkest color for title, then lighter color(for body), lightest for the Archives and such, and then dark again. But I think the third box (for archives and blogroll) looks kind of chopped? It would look much better if you extend it's width. Will kind of give uniformity to the page
