Paris if you're American, New York if you're European or South American.

I don't like big cities. I care more about gorgeous scenery and meeting nice locals;. If I were visiting France, I wouldn't visit Paris; I would visit the countryside, and New York is the last place I would want to visit. I am going to visit Sicily, Italy and maybe Croatia in April.

Not every part of NYC is "big city" there are parts of NYC that have such small charm and individuality that you feel very warm and at home there... I think most people who "visit" New York see Time Square and the Empire State building and think they've seen NYC....but really they've just seen Mid-Town Manhattan....

Don't listen to that crazy small town girl. Bigger cities have more things to do, less old people, and generally equates to funner times

I guess I'm boring I like fun coastal towns where you party till dawn.

Ne venez pas à Paris, vont à New York.

    I'm Italian. Live in Rome.
I think I'm going to NY, because Paris is near from Italy.
    Thank you for listening! :-)

    C'est Paris pour moi.

I live only a few hours from NYC and used to work there, so I'd pick Paris. I want to go there really bad anyway.

Try Orient Express. Great Train travel and a great experience.

Between Paris and New York, I'd choose Rome

As long as oyu have a home to come back to, it really doesn't matter. It is all cake if you have money for security. Either sounds like heaven to me.

Paris is lovely but I'm surprised with all the people saying "no" to NY.

Ny isn't just tall buildings... this city is so mysterious and wild at night.

I highly recommend the streets of Gotham.

    It's a world all itself.

I guess since I am near Paris I should vote NY? A short trip would be lovely.

They say Paris is romantic. What do they say about NY?

New York City has everything in the world in one city.

Been to both. Love both for different reasons. Paris, for visual arts and a cityscape that evokes the grandeur of the Old World. New York for performing arts and a cityscape that sizzles with the energy of the New World.

Between New York and Paris, I think I would prefer Santa Barbara, CA

    I'm with you, Calais.

Paris without a doubt. New York has some merits - an energy I've never experienced anywhere else, great pizza, the most interesting people but my goodness, it is very dirty!

Paris has everything: great food, an amazing language, culture, beauty - shall I go on!?

    Neither.........London.

If you are European choose London, if you are American choose London, you know it makes sense.

I will choose Paris over NYC. However, but I wouldn't stay there more than a week because I'd rather leave that city travel and see the rest of France.

    Neither. Prague.
    1. timethief
Prague looks very appealing to me.
What are some features that you like best about it?
      1. aningeniousname
I heard it was awful now due to all the stag parties.
      2. greencurmudgeon
        @anin

No, that's Riga now. Prague is too expensive for those these days.
      3. crpitt
I have been to Riga and yes it is awful for stag parties.

I love both cities. Is the OP still reading this thread?
    3. nothingprofound
Right now, I'd settle for my own private, tiny desert island. Civilization doesn't appeal to me at all.

Never been to Paris (yet) but New York is a one of kind city and I love it there very much.
