Topics: plastic containers, post promotion
It's been a while since I did some shameless blog promotion. Now, I feel like doing it.
This post is about the hazard posed by plastic containers to our health..

There are so many different types of plastic, and different plastics have different properties and characteristics.
Here are a few examples:
Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) for frozen food such as freezer bags and squeezable bottles.
Polypropylene(PP) for reusable microwaveable ware such as take away containers, kitchenware, and microwaveable disposable.
Polyvinylchloride(PVC) is an environmental poison throughout its life cycle. PVC releases dioxin and other persistent organic pollutants during its manufacture and disposal.
Dioxins are created when PVC plastic is burned in stoves, open trash burning, incinerators, and accidental fires.
Plastic is everywhere and in everything. Not many of us can live in a “plastic-free" world. -
Thanks Jack!
Sweden has created an efficient and probably profitable national system for saving the environment through recycling all kinds of garbage.
I have a great number of trash bins in my house for different kinds of trash. Aluminum in one, other metals in another, colored glass in one, other glass in another, newspapers in one, hard paper in another .... and plastics.... (Furthermore, everything have to be cleaned before it is thrown away).
There are approx. seven different types of plastics in circulation. I am not allowed to put all plastics in the same recycling bin.
"Energy saving"? Well... That's another story.
