We all crave some substinative feedback from our peers for our blog. So why not form the equivalent of a "Book of the Month Club" and take one blog at a time and review it thoroughly?

The rules of the Blog of the Week Club are:

*No self-nominations! You must suggest someone else's blog.

* No link dropping of your own blog in commentary. A big no-no at Blog Catalog.

* Your comments of why you nominated the blog must go beyond "nice blog" or "great blog." Write two or three sentences why you liked the blog. Justify your nomination. Similarly, you can nominate a blog that you think needs help.

*Keep it friendly. Constructive criticism goes much further than nasty, pointed remarks.

* All nominations will be given their own discussion threads so this one doesn't become a muddled mess.

Peer review is so helpful, when done in a friendly environment.

So, let's hear who we should review as a group and why!

No takers? Anyone interested in a little feedback from the community?

      Easy killer!

Lemme find a blog to nominate...

I think the civit coffee one was fun!

Make Your Favorite Breakfast was good (yum), too!

Your favorite foods one had a nice long run!

I like the ones that have fun in them, have a long run, and are "happy" themes that put smiles on faces.

oops - I was thinking threads, not blogs, I am a doofus!

Yeah, I know. Then I got all serious, all of a sudden. Just tired of seeing people post "Review Me" threads and getting only one or two comments back. They deserve better. Hopefully, this one will help, a bit, even if it has only a few contributors.

@Anok, I'm going to beat you to the punch and Nominate MadMadMargo's "The Screaming MeMe"

    madmadmargo.blogspot.com/

The comic book template, numerous images, and daily humor posts make this a blog that I've enjoyed and returned to several times. Plus, I'm partial to blogs that embed silly videos. MeMe must spend hours digging up tidbits for her eclectic mix of off-kilter humor.

I shall ponder for a while.

Thanks, crpitt! You're the Cat's meow!

Are you aware of the Blogger's Choice awards?
    bloggerschoiceawards.com/
All of BC's 200,00 members can enter and vote in multiple categories in those awards.

Yup, @timethief, but that's more of a popularity contest at Blogger's Choice, with mostly limited feedback. I was aiming more for some more in-depth peer review and constructive criticism amongst the BC community.

It's already touched on in certain places, like @Weblogian's ongoing design reviews and @MrsBlog's SWOT analysis. And there's always a few "Review my Blog!" threads, but the responses are usually limited. I'm throwing this against the wall to see if it sticks, and will be happy if only a few regulars participate. We shall see...

Thanks for the clarity. You can form The Blog of the Week Group very easily with just a few clicks. Then those members who crave substantive feedback on their blogs from their peers can join it, and jointly review one blog at a time.

Thanks, @timethief. Good to know. I think I'll try it on the main boards first and see what kind of results I get. If this gets out of hand, then maybe a group is in order. But I'd like to invite everyone to participate first and see how it goes. Keeps it more interesting.

Best wishes to you. BC is 200,000 members strong and although most don't post to the forum I'm sure you will secure enough for a group effort on the forum.

    oops! wrong spot

Is there a group already? Where do I sign up? lol
    1. gtally
HalfCrazy, a couple of us BC users are cobbling something together. We're discussing the particulars right now. We'll keep you posted!
