it is awful .. but there is a new way to determine a website's value that is through real rank. but still don't quite get how it works.

PageRank is a good indicator of a website's online value as seen by Google.
The higher your PR the more valuable your site is and more people are likely to link with your site. Besides, higher PR sites most likely get better Search Engine Rankings, so more visitors (although this is not absolute, I've seen many sites with no PR yet has good SERP). Plus, high PR is what advertisers are looking for in any website or blog.

Hi all,
I've never known the importance of page rank. What I do know is if I search for globalnewsblogger.com in google search box I get a list of all my posts, if I search for global news blogger I get the top 3 search listings.
Now if I do a search for say "japans mission to kill 1,000 whales" which is the title of my last post it comes up second only to BBC news.
My point is what difference does it make what your page rank is, if someone is searching for something you've got your blog will come up, and that's what you want, real people searching for real content and getting your site.
I know by the first result that google spiders every one of my posts which is the main thing, if someone searches for something which i've posted about depending on how they word their search phrase they will probably get to visit my blog. Am I missing something or is page rank more important to me than I realise? I've never worried about it in the past.

There is another Page Rank Update last November 15, 2007. Many bloggers lost their high page rank suddenly. From PR as high as 5 to PR-0.
