How do you feel about it?
I put a nude photo on my blog today and am catching flack for it. I believe I did it the right way, warning what was in the scroll down.
Did I forever taint myself as a porn blogger?

I know a woman who has nude photographs of herself on her blog--it's a personal blog and she gets over 2,000 unique visitors a day. She writes about a variety of topics, and I wouldn't say she's considered a porn blogger by any stretch. It definitely speaks to a particular audience, though (and steers another away). It's all about knowing your own niche, isn't it?

I put some pretty risky photos on my blog all the time, and every time I do it I wonder myself. In fact I have a slide show on one blog, that is risky, I guess. But it fits the blog and the content, I think. And for the record, I am NOT a porn blog, just about relationships, and all aspects that go along with it.

Since when did nudity equal pornography? LOL C'mon!
It's your blog, do what you want with it.
Okay - just looked and that's not nude, just his butt. And I don't think it needed the warning, but it was funny & cute. He is delicious looking

Not true Ekim, most of the pictures I have used from time to time, all show more of the woman than the man. The thing I hate the most is that, when ever you watch an R rated movie, you see woman's breasts all the time. Very rare do you see the man exposed, and if you do, you had better have it taped or on DVD, because it comes and goes so fast, you miss the whole thing.

I had a nude backshot of me from the waist up as my profile pic for a while, then changed it, I like variety, I also put a shot of my a$$ up there as a joke , its all tongue in cheek and it's how I roll never got any flack so don't worry about it really

Wow, can I copy your picture. Love it, and it is not in the least porn. Some people are beyond reasonable. If that bothers them they had better close all their blinds, and lock all their doors, and live that way.

No
The best place for nudity is swimming in the ocean or river, or in bed
Although if you blogged about cocoanut oil all it's not a bad idea -

That wasn't really really nude, so I imagine it depends on the audience and context of your blog.
If I all of a sudden posted a nude picture on my blog it would be a little out of place for sure. -
We have yet to put any completely nude pics up on our blog yet. Although there are plenty of what I would call "classy sexy" shots of Mrs. Gentlenibbles and some of our friends all over the place. Our Header is her in her bra and panties.
Then again, our audience usually does not have that much problem with a little "classy sexy" or nudity every now and then...lol
I don't consider us "pornbloggers" at all. Now I am curious, are we considered porn bloggers? -

@thenibblers
I agree with Kat. I think you need a new header with matching lingerie. It's a swingers blog - encouraging partner switching stuff. MEH I also think you could choose a better background color for the header too but then what can I say? I'm a nit picky artist.
Setting that aside, I could see no porno images at least from what I glanced at but I just zoomed through the front page. It does not appear to depict cheesecake, beefcake or human sexual activity. If it does contain those things then it would cross the line and the ToS of the host would have to be very carefully examined. Most web hosts do not accept porno. The number of masturbators looking for wank off material make such blogs resource hogs so shared hosting isn't easy to find. -
lol
My feelings are getting hurt...
We don't have any panties that match the shine on the bra.... I don't think it would look near as good in the photograph, but I am the man I will take that up with Mrs. G and get back to you!

@ttiger
nudity=traffic=money SOMETIMES
If and only if you either have your own server or you are fortunate enough to find a web host with a ToS that has the sever capacity required (do be prepared to pay the high web hosting fees), otherwise on shared hosting you simply end up with very little cash, a site that's frequently off line, mountains of spam, trolls and perverts that stalk you.

Actually I think that is a beautiful photo. But I'm from Vegas. I guess I'm used to billboards and ads that show behinds. And he has a very nice one.

Ya, know now that I think about it, after viewing it, and going back just in case I might have missed some key points, possibly you gave too much warning. To much scroll down. Anyone viewing it, knew without a shadow of a doubt that you felt guilty, and so, they monopolized on your own feelings. There is nothing wrong with that photograph, but then let me run back in there to take just one last look to make absolutely sure.

I'm a wannabe pornstar, or at least a wannabe pimp so I don't see anything wrong with nudity or adult oriented sites. The big problem is that if people like us actually read porn sites it politically incorrect to blogroll them or even talk about them.

Good heavens, JANE! You are a mighty bad influence on me
I like it!
About Josh, his sexy lips were enough to send me into a frenzy. I didn't need anymore encouragement. -
Well, let's just say that putting nudity on a site, will certainly generate some extra, though ephemeral, traffic. Especially if it is announced. However, there is lots of competition for nude traffic, so I think that the short term gains are probably not worth it, unless your blog is looking specifically for that kind of traffic - i.e. either artists who are looking to examine the nature of nudity, or .... the other type of visitor.

WEll some might consider it rude, like autoplay music, but no one is forcing people to go to your blog, read your blog OR scroll down after the warning and see a photo of a very nice bum.

I've seen people post pictures of themselves, completely nude. I'm talking non artistic photos, unphotoshopped at that. It was some sort of therapy for them.
As for what your talking about, I find no offense in nudity, in fact welcome it at certain times. If people don't want to see it, them they can click out of your blog, there is no need for people to give you flack about it. -
Go for it Jane - I viewed that very photo and it's not even full frontal.
Nothing to be worried about. Your blog is not for kiddies anyway! Rock the man candy is what I say. -
I've had some trouble (not much) with my blog and it's not even nude photos. They are nude life drawings of me done in art classes. My blog has been labeled "pornography" once, which it definitely is not. And another site pulled down a post I submitted with a nude drawing of me. But then it got straightened out when the admin finally READ the blog in its entirety.
There is a nice drawing of me posted on my blog right now that i can't imagine anyone classifying as "porn"!
