Ok his pitch was low and out side, He looked great, was comfortable, and very human amongst the little people as well...
What do I mean by that?
We'll they had Stan Musial come out in a cart to bring out the baseball for the opening pitch.
1 Guy sat in back, Stan The Man was in the passenger seat and then there was the driver of the cart.
Obama, shook hands with the guy in the back, then stepped up to Stan the Man, and hand cupped him and you can see the honor he had for Stan. All the while the cart driver was looking forward, just being the cart driver. When Obama, finished with Stan the Man he reached across Stan and shook the cart drivers hand, the driver was like in shock, put out his hand then looked forward.

I have to give major props to Obama for his first All Star Game!!!

    Edited twice and expanded:
I'm Canadian. What the heck are you talking about and why should I care?

Obama pitched a single ball, right? I mean he chucked a ball -- woo hoo! -- big freaking deal. All that money wasted on security service protection so he could ride a golf cart and heave a ball. What more is there to say?

Oh, and just in case this proves to be a sacred cow issue in nevereverland, I apologize in advance, for making light of this momentous non-occasion. ... lol

good thing Roger Clemmons wasn't there, asking to see his birth certificate...

OK, first he didn't ride the cart
The point was the cart driver was a nobody, and he (Obama) went out of his way to shake his hand, when the cart driver knew his place and tried to stay out of the way. That was the point. That was the woo hoo not the ball being thrown. The money is wasted all the time, when it comes down to a feel good moment it's better than then anything Bush has offered. TT, no problem, I am even shocked someone responded to one of my post so thanks for that.

Thanks for the good humored and gracious response.

OMG, Timey. You mean, in Canada, nobody does anything ceremonial? You mean if the queen decided to visit, Canada would say no? That's ridiculous. Don't be just another Obama basher. For one thing, he's a southpaw, and that's cool. For another, he did great. He almost got the ball all the way to home plate. You may have issues with the guy, but he did just fine last night. Now, let's see how he does on health care.

You must be new here. I'm definitely NOT an Obama basher. I'm glad he was elected. Also Rozie and I are not exactly strangers ... lol

He shook a mans hand.. Give the Comrade in chief a cigar...

All that training and he barely got the ball to the plate.. They should have had the catcher hold a hoop instead.

Remember that the US government doesn't "waste" money, they can just print more. So in a way, they're fighting the recession one step at the time!
    1. csiunatc
Funny how if any one of us printed money because we couldn't pay for stuff we wanted. We'd be in jail...

So much for equal under the law.. lol

Perhaps I'm wrong but I've come to the conclusion that you are all about money and nothing else. Are you actually an American citizen with the right to vote there? Or are you just there on sufferance?
    3. freshtunesfinland
Who are you referring to timethief?

And csiunatc, naturally I didn't mean on a personal level. Jesus.

The only thing I was referring to, was that being the most powerful economy in the world, the US Treasury could print out more money without it probably affecting any of the exchange rates.

First, TT is no Obama Basher.

    @csiunatc
It's not as easy as you think throwing a ball 60 feet, under all the pressure wearing plated armor.
He was pleasant, and gracious, and even sat a inning in the broadcast booth.
