And we thought that we would see the ends of these public mistakes with Bush on his way out.

Obama-isms:

"How's it going, Sunshine?" --campaigning in Sunrise, Florida

"I've now been in 57 states -- I think one left to go." --at a campaign event in Beaverton, Oregon

"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed." --on a Kansas tornado that killed 12 people

How about "help is on the way."

Also, "Let's be clear..." (what a difference from the last 8 years.)

Those are gaffes, not "Obamaisms." For the latter, try the following statement on the puppy issue, which I suspect is going to be more of the kind of thing comics and journalists notice. Someone at Politico, I recall, chuckled.

    > "With respect to the dog, this is a major issue," Obama
    > quipped.

    > "Malia is allergic, so it has to be hypoallergenic. There

    > mutts, like me. So whether we're going to be able to
    > balance those two things, I think, is a pressing issue on
    > the Obama household.
