دخل أوباما إلى الخريطة السياسية تقريباً مثلما دخل اخناتون علي الوضع السياسي الذي كان سائداً قبله ، كلاهما رغب في التغيير ، حول اخناتون كان الكهنة يدبرون أمراً ، حول أوباما لا يختلف الوضع كثيراً ، أما المدهش بالفعل في أمر أوباما أن الأعداء وللمرة الأولى اتحدوا علي كراهيته ، أعلنت إسرائيل الحرب عليه تماماً كما أعنها العرب ، أنا هنا لا أهلل كما فعل المصفقون في جامعة القاهرة لكني أتساءل عن السبب الحقيقي الذي يدفع العرب علي المستوى الشعبي والرسمي لطرح هذا العداء الغير موضوعي لرجل بمجرد أنه يلوح برغبته في التغيير ، هو ليس اخناتون بالفعل رغم تشابه الملامح ، لكن ما أنا متأكد منه أن الكهنة هم أنفسهم , كهنة السياسة الأمريكية ربما لا يسمحون له بالتغيير , خصوصاً إذا كان الأمر يتعلق بتغيير يحمل طابع الطفرة في السياسة الأمريكية , تحدث الرجل عن العرب ربما للمرة الأولى كشعوب راقية ، كذا الوضع بالنسبة للمسلمين , تغيير القناعات في السياسة الأمريكية لا يمكن مقارنته بالمرة بما يحدث في الوطن العربي الذي من الممكن أن تراه في الصباح يميل أقصى اليمين وفي آخر الليل يميل أقصى اليسار , وحتى أكون موضوعياً عليّ أن لا أعول كثيراً على أوباما , ليس بسبب أن الرجل يفتقد للرغبة في تحريك الوضع قليلأ أو كثيراً , لكن لأن كهنة اخناتون لن يرضون بطفرات جديدة , لن يتنازلون عن أن أمريكا هي سيدة العالم الجديد وعليها أن تظل كذلك , لا بالقوة الناعمة بل بالقوة الحقيقية , ربما ليس بطريقة بوش لكن بوسائل أخرى أقل خطورة , المخيف بالفعل أن سيناريو التخلص من أوباما ليس بعيداً عن سيناريو التخلص من اخناتون , ساعتها سيكون هؤلاء الذين يلوحون بشارات الكراهية هم أكثر النادمين , فقط لأنهم سيدركون مدي محدودية نظرتهم , سيرددون : ماذا لو كنا أنصتنا قليلاً -

Akhenaten imposed monotheism on the Egyptian people and built a city in the middle of nowhere as a capital for his new, Sun-god based religion. After he died, his "reforms" blew away almost as quickly as they were imposed.
I certainly hope President Obama won't combine such folly, pig-headedness and futility all in one package. -
Just for fun, it is entirely possible that Akhenaten had an influence on early Judaism, as evidenced by the similarity between his "Great Hymn to the Aten" and Psalm 104. See here:

Again, I doubt President Obama is going to leave behind any Psalms (sorry, Mr. President)...though a few people are already speaking in tongues.
