I sadly announce to those that know the brilliant John Martyn's music. He has passed on.

This is a sad day for music. John Martyn wrote the Solid Air album and song Solid air about Nick Drake.

He also wrote May You Never, recorded by Eric Clapton and Head and Heart recorded by America on the Homecoming album.

Many of us will mourn the passing of John Martyn one of the greatest Singer Guitarist Songwriters of our time

To see him in action

Last thing I saw of him was a few years ago on the BBC and it was just him and a gold top Les Paul.

Hmmmm...I remember some friends of mine were really into him, but I don't think I've ever heard much of his music...always like the song Clapton covered, though.....

    DR

He was the awesomest, second to none. Recently I did a post saying Solid Air was one of the best 3 singer songwriter albums ever made.

At times you'd say that Drake and Martyn were the same musician

See if you can hear Spencer The Rover.

It's quite funny, I've got video hits going in the background, and thinking what crap. These people wouldn't know music if it bit them on the arse
