    1. acousticguitarist
creepy for me, there's so much of me there when I dig in and also photos of people I know that have been involved in optimizing sites with me. The way we have worked is a little unusual and it has aggregated all sorts of things
    2. rickyjr

  12. Agit8r
There is a Saint John Fisher? Crazy!

Couldn't find anything on me. Guess not putting my real zip code on anything paid off

Wait... I put it on there! Damn, I knew it was a trap!

    8. dbowles1017

  18. Deray28
Way too many gals with my same name If I search my 2 last names I get 0 hits
  19. rainforestrobin
There were a lot of Robin Eastons but most were men but a lot of west coast Robin Eastons.
  20. crpitt
Whoa it found naked pictures of me!

    Not really.

Nothing that surprised me came up.
    1. acousticguitarist
yes , i posted them on one of my sites
  21. cindygeenotes
I vote creepy and cool as well. Fortunately, my real name is dead common (Jane Doe, if you must know.) The good news is there are a lot of Jane Does out there. The bad news is that some of them appear to be in, shall we say, the personal service industry.

Just the same, it is very interesting to see how being referenced somewhere in a newspaper article or magazine will pop up on the list. It is very current. I found a hit from yesterday that I knew nothing about.

This certainly points to the value of using Google Alerts and other such services.
    1. timethief
I also have very common given names. I'm a member of a huge extended family wherein my aunts, uncles and cousins many of whom are are all of similar age also bear the same names. As a child I didn't think much about this because none of us were actually called by our given names. Since I've come online it's proven to be a boon, despite the fact that I blog under a pseudonym.

I did include links to reputation management tools in my blog post Blogging: Online presence and authenticity that I recently posted a Shameless Blog Promotion thread for, and included them in this thread too.

    How long does it take?
    1. ArsenicCookies
      oops wrong spot
  23. Sam1982
They aint got nuttin on me
    1. timethief
oops! wrong place - see below
  24. timethief
The bottom line here is all they have is what ourselves provide.

For example if you provided information like:
Name, address, date of birth, astrological sign and images then they are all there. And if you provided duplicate information under more than one name then it's all there and cross-referenced.
    1. acousticguitarist
yes i realise that but it's also pulling in other info
    2. timethief
Pulling in other info from where?
    3. acousticguitarist
i otimize a certain way and it's pulled in pictures of some of my friends
  25. Sway
    That is pretty cool.
    1. celticmusicfan
again as long as it does not show your 'not so best' moments. i could cover my head with a paper bag!
  26. Shiley
I found me using my maiden name and my family. Nothing for my married name. My husband was much easier to find.
  27. Anok
    They got nuthin on me.

    Muwahahahahaha
    1. Friday13
Of course they don't. "Anarchist Ninja" isn't a clear enough search term!
  28. cindygeenotes
None of the stuff that is out there on me is revealing of personal information, but it also wasn't me who put me out there. The links come from organizations I have worked for.

It doesn't cross-reference to cindygeenotes (please, you can call me Jane ;-) so I'm okay with that. But it does underscore a rather important point: If you don't keep work and personal separate, right down to the pictures you choose to use, an employer might be able to follow a thread back to your blog on small powertools and body icing techniques. As long as you work in an industrial kitchen, I don't expect you'll run into a problem with that.
    1. celticmusicfan
I agree with you there Jane ;-)I work in a company where confidentiality is very important. that's why i make sure i keep fun and work separate. and even if i do that i always have to be on the lookout with what i do online because what i do is what i am
  29. flamingpoodle
Nothing. I must be part of either the 0people or the 456people?
