I have a date tonight with a guy who ACTUALLY has potential - which means it will probably be a bomb of a date.... LOL

We've been chatting via the phone/email for a couple weeks now so I'm not at all nervous, just excited to meet him and see if we get past that first date "is he as cute as his pictures" phase...

do you usually get nervous/excited/don't care about first dates with someone new?

In the 60s, we didn't go on dates. We just jumped in the hot tub.

LMAO I did that on my 1st date with my ex-husband =) of course, we were 18 and that was adventurous at the time.

believe it or not, when i'm actually interested in a guy, i try very hard NOT to sleep with him right off the bat. as such, I am meeting him at a bar for a couple drinks and something to eat. and then going home. probably.

I don't think I've ever really been on a formal date. I prefer things to happen spontaneously.

well when you meet someone online and chat, it has to lead to a first date b/c you have to meet at some point LOL I told him we'd meet, see if the chemistry continues and if so, go from there. I'm not big on planning dates - give me a day and time and we'll figure it out.

Yes, that's the thing - I've never met anyone online and then gone on a date. I'm not averse to online dating.

Aspot! I didn't recognize you ^_^! What an interesting avatar hehe

If I go on a date, I'm usually a tiny bit nervous before I see him, but when I see him, it's like 'Heey it's the same guy I had so much fun talking with' and then I'm not nervous anymore haha.

      Sjtavo, have all the fun

Thanks TJ - I think it will be a lot of fun and it's only a couple hours of my life if it doesn't go well - plus I won't wear a coat so if i have to scram, i go to the ladies room w/ my purse and bail LOL

My first dates were going out to eat and them to a movie or some sort of event. I wasnt nervous because if I didnt like them I did not go past dinner.

It's been so long since I had a date, I don't even remember how I react.

I think for me (when I was dating), I used to make myself nervous wondering about how I would deal with awkward moments, what was going to happen afterwards, etc. etc. I totally blame this on my ex's mother. She told me a story about when she was on a date once, they went out for supper and she was so worried about being proper while eating and seeming interested in conversation that she missed her mouth and stuck a fork full of peas up her nose. LOL

WOW now that would suck. I'm usually really at ease with someone because I do prefer to chat a bit before we meet - if we have awkward pauses during the phone conversations, I generally won't meet them to avoid that during a date. Then again, I'm such a talker I can carry on a conversation with myself!

Man I get nervous! Excited too though You never know what it can bring about, it could change the rest of your life, or you can go home annoyed as hell lol.

AWFUL. are you reading this? it was awful - ok, not awful because god made alcohol but needless to say, i pulled the "wow i'm so tired" card and bailed fast. i'm going to write about it now to post on my blog.

but all is well because i've already met another guy LOL

Better check out the size of his member at the earliest available opportunity to avoid disappointment.
    1. amybyrd21
I think all men should have the measurments done by a trained individual and have a certificate to let us women see on the first or second date.
    2. polybore
Seems over complicated. Polybore just gets it out and lays it on the table on a first date.

There is however rarely a second date. Wonder why that is...?

You also have a knife in hand by any chance?
    4. sjtavo
he had sent a picture already - it was very doable - what is NOT doable is the 350 pounds and face that looks nothing like his photo attached to his pleasure pole!

the good thing is, I don't get my hopes up with anyone because I'm such a cynic - so I am almost entertained by my own misery in dating.
    LOL

On my first dates I'm actually usually very excited. I get to be the new girl of intrest for someone, and dazzle him with my smile. Lol. Any chance for a fresh start is something I look forward to. I usually shine on first dates. It's the 51st dates I suck at.
    1. alivasim
ohh..u got so many dates and u still can count them...
    2. sjtavo
LMAO 51st date - shit, I haven't made it that far in years!! That's ok tho - I have a quick recovery. Chatting with two new guys right now, plus my girl Sara is hooking me up with a couple new POA's.... all is right in the world!
