I used a tool to generate meta tags and description. It is my understanding that I need to insert this data near the top of my template - but precisely where?

If someone could tell me where to insert the new content I'd really
appreciate it.

Here is the start of my current page template.

I keep trying to add the code here but the HTML converts and it gets lost, so here is the data from another post:

It needs to be added into the head section between the < head> and < /head tags>, (without the spaces).

    Its exactly like TheCrazyKitchen said.

Place your meta tags in the section that starts with "head" somewhere before it ends with "/head" It can only work in that area.

What I do in these situations, is find the "head" then click enter a couple times and then add the meta tags.

Each Meta tag "author, keywords, description" is on it's own line. Make sure you use the right brackets around the meta tag.. ()

It will not work if you put it anywhere else on the template. So don't put it under the "body" section etc.

Ok I think I am getting this. Am I to understand that this is not replacing anything in the template, but just being added on?

You lost me on the tags - I used a tool to automatically generate this snipppet - was it incorrectly formatted? Reading the above post makes me think I have to rearrange them to appear this way:

Is that correct? If so, what do I do with the quotes and brackets?

Sorry, I only want to do this once - without blowing up my blog : )

    Thanks!

I just realized that brackets make everything I put here disappear. I am pulling my hair out over this.
