Discussions

I told in a discussion probably last year that I eat Dogs. I have received for the third time- really really weird shouts.

Let me ask this to those who are against me eating Dogs. The world has different peoples from different cultures and background. I am from a community that eats dog and believe dog meat as a great vitamin for health.

I just asked and like to know many people eat dog?

I can respect you and your culture, why not mine? The world does not belong to your community alone nor this forum.
You raise chicken for food and I raise dog for food.

N.B. We eat Dogs of specific breed not all.

Ahhh you sweetie --- Unfortunately for me - I view dogs as pets/friends/family... and Cats too.

BUT - I have been around other cultures that see them as a delicacy.

I would cringe to know I ate something like that --- BUT then - I also do not like to butcher animals that I've raised on farms, etc.

So I think it's more of the personality of the animal.

But I do not discount your culture or their eating habits.

We all eat what we believe is right for ourselves. I do draw the line at HUMANS. Sorry - cannot eat peoples....

    LOL!

    All dogs are not pet

Actually, in the West, all breeds of dogs are pets. Hence, that argument really won't work to cool the tempers of those upset by this discussion.

Note: I'm not one of those people. The thought of eating dog horrifies me, but, then, I know a lot of people are horrified about things I eat, and I get really irritated when they get in my face about it.

What i am saying here is about calling name and racial remarks. What I say is that every human should respect each other culture and traditions.

I guess I'm with weblogian on this drjay1966, nothing personal
I eat dogs as "pulutan" when I was still drinking alcohol. Apart from that, you might be surprised at what else I tasted:

      chicken feet, heads, and intestines.
      goat innards
      pig cheeks
frogs and rats (the edible types, silly)
      snake
      balot (eggs with embryo inside)
      pork organs
      horse jerky

      disgusting, isn't it?

I eat a lot of hot dogs

I suppose that doesn't count because hot dogs don't really contain dog. However, to be honest, I'm not sure what all is in hot dogs!

Sorry you had to go through that Weblogian.. Every culture is different and have different things they do and eat.. It makes things interesting! I have never eaten dog... and probably wouldn't unless I had too! Tho I have eaten alligator! People here in Alaska eat whale, walrus, moose, caribou, buffalo, beaver, and various other animals... which is not a normal diet for most of the States in USA... but that's okay.

    Webby love you.

And about the dog thing - You are so right - no one should cut you down for your culture. NEVER.

I mean - you're not going to come to my house and eat my dog... So I am not worried.

You raise them like cattle - correct?
    1. weblogian
Yes we raise them as cattle but we don't usually eat those which are raise as pets.

I do have a white small cutty hairy dog from foreign breed as my pet
  8. wagerwitch
See - it's a different thing altogether then.

You raise them like we raise farm animals - it's truly no one's right to tell you what you CAN eat - or Cannot eat.

I DO SET MY FOOT DOWN AT HUMANS tho... OK?

So don't be telling me you eat peoples... Cause that would be kinda the line I'd have to draw and say --- WHOA yuck! LOL!

(Unless of course, you're on top of the snowiest mountain after a plane wreck...)
