I tried it once - but no success stories, I stopped after being lied to by a bus driver.

Well fortunately it was still a she, but far from being the person in her profile picture. I was a gentleman and still took her out on the date, but she obviously had other intentions - and lets just say she had a weight advantage and managed to pin me down.
I did get away with minimal violation though - but she did manage to later on find out what my mobile number was and she was a bit of a stalker for a while after that. Thankfully she didnt know where I lived and eventually gave up the chase -

after the craigs list thing I would think twice if I was single using online dating-
I'm very glad I found someone willing to tolerate my quirks, I'm watching a couple friends go through it and I'm glad I'm settled down.

Yeah, you have to be careful. I've actually met a few people and no one was weird or creepy....all were pretty nice. You have to know how to screen people.

I personally date with my ex-girl through online social...but my wife is not on that way.. -
I actually dated someone for 6 months that I met online. But in the end it didn't work out, so I can't call it a success story.

It really depends on Who you are, Whom you are looking for What sites you visit and How you present yourself there. I am currently partnered/living with/everything short of married to someone I met on a "dating" type site. But it probably wouldn't work as well for Most of you. -
