I just posted a true story detailing the date from hell from several years ago.
Enough time has passed that I can utilize that unsettling experience for entertainment purposes.
Focus: Do you enjoy online dating?
The good? The bad? ....The ugly?

I used to email a gal from Wisconsin (which is half a world away from where I am) a few years back. It was great, kinda like finding a soul-mate. Sadly, we lost touch for a while, then hotmail deleted my account for being inactive! I managed to track down her number but I guessed she moved. Still think about her from time to time.

I love online dating. The success rate in terms of compatibility in my experience has been very much in favor of online dating. That is not to say that all sites are equal in value, but that is to say that at best it works and it works well. And I enjoyed it, now it's a thing of the past as I married my online date.
I actually just published a free ebook about online dating, and it can be found on my blog... Or right through here:

I did the online dating thing for quite a while. The stereotypes are true, in that many people are there because they don't know how to meet people in the real world. That said, there are also perfectly normal people who are simply trying it out because they haven't met the person they're looking for through any other avenue.
I met a lot of people. I got stalked. I found out how badly people can misrepresent themselves.
I had a few brief relationships. Then I found my partner of two years.
She's beautiful, intelligent, ambitious, social, and completely unlike any of the online dating stereotypes.
We're planning to get married next year, and everything points to a very fun life ahead.
Online dating works. Not necessarily right away, and not necessarily easily. But it works. -
