Big fan here! We vacation near his present home every year. Years ago, he used to be a regular, moving freely around the community. This has changed since he has become less mobile. Favorite character: Andy himself. The lessons were/are priceless. Especially to those of us who have sons. - Nards

This is very cool. I've been to Mayberry Days a couple of times in Mt. Airy, but not when Andy was able to make it. This year Thelma Lou and Charleen Darling will be there. I hope to make it. Thanks, Nards.

I used to watch it when I was younger because my parents loved it. I did too. It's great to watch with your family. Don Knotts was an incredibly talented man. It's just a very feel good, homey, endearing show.

The Andy Griffith Show is how I de-stress

I actually didn't start watching it until about 10 years ago. TV Land is my favorite channel. Tied for second is The Discovery Channel and the History Channel. I also get to watch lots of Nick at nite and Disney

The show is just so laid back. By the way, did you know, it is used in many parts of the country in bible study groups?

I found that out last summer when I saw a few signs on the churches around here about summer bible groups looking at the Andy Griffith way of life. I had no idea. I guess it's the do unto others theme.

Big fan, love all the characters but Andy was the best, followed by Barney. The early black and white ones are my favorites!

That would be my order as well. Andy had such a great, subtle humor. Barney was classic slapstick.

I always wanted an Aunt Bea

I liked the episode where she took the "adult dose" of the medicine man's elixer.

They don't make 'em like that anymore! Probably the cleanest show EVER...!
    ( except maybe Matlock??)
