Oscar Predictions!!!!!

A below average in quality this year which will make the Oscar race difficult to call. You had great films like No Country for Old Men, American Gangster, and Michael Clayton. But you had overrated films like Atonement. Atonement left me soooo….unsatisfied. There seems to be a huge buzz over Atonement. Atonement could be the next English Patient (Don’t even get me started on that piece of crap). Atonement WILL get nominations but if they walk away with some gold I might have to take some diarrea medicine. However, I have been right 4 out of the last 5 years! I feel this year the Oscars will put some heavy weight on past performances as well. You can take these predicitons to the bank. So here they are.
Best Supporting Actress
Tilda Swinton - Michael Clayton
Best Supporting Actor
Javier Bardem - No Country for Old Men
Best Actress
Julie Christe - Away From Her
Best Actor
Daniel Day Lewis - There Will Be Blood
Best Director
Paul Thomas Anderson - There Will Be Blood
Best Picture
No Country for Old Men

I have no idea the only movies I've seen are No Country For Old Men ansd American Gangster, and the Dylan Movie which wasn't nominated, I wouldn't even recognize most celebrities so if they win or lose it's all the same to me.

I like it. I've got great respect for anyone publicly predicts/handicaps anything. Way to state your opinion emphatically. I know what it's like to live by your word and wear your heart on it's sleeve. Bravo.

The Best Actor pick is the safest bet of the night.

I agree on most of you of your picks. However, I think "There Will Be Blood" will be Best Picture. I'll say Amy Ryan in "Gone Baby Gone" for Supporting Actress - that's a hard category to guess this year.

  EDITED TO ADD: I hated "The English Patient". I was like Elaine in that "Seinfeld" episode: everyone loved the movie and she was the only one that hated it. And when she told people, they looked at her like she was crazy.
