I came across Blog Catalog this morning and so far I like it. Spending too much of my day off on here. What other sites would you recommend that are like this? Does this one get the most traffic?

Thanks,

Why would anyone spend much of their fay here?

The best blogs are written by people who have a life.

      Unless you blog about blogging
    2. nell
a blog about blogging blogs in the blogsfere...
    3. blackzedd
Absolutely. especially when you repost the same topic posted by other bloggers. Then you have to be on constant lookout for new topics to imitate.

This is the best place. Welcome
  4. clioandme
    Nope. No other place.

Still, there are other places to list your blogs, including MyBlogLog and BumpZee.
    1. Shuo
wow, never knew that many sites like this.
    2. roentarre
Mybloglog is not a good site for me. It gathers no readers and no momentum for a proper exposure of any blogs.
    3. timethief
I can say the same. I don't believe I have ever received a visitor via myblolog and I keep pretty close tabs on my referrers.
    4. weblogian
Don't blame Mybloglog it is us-offline

      Thanks!!

BlogCatalog and MyBlogLog seem to be the most popular
    that I've seen.

Joining new communities is great as you can get to know the site owners and original crew and be part of the whole process of development, before it gets too big to be personal.
  7. jackpayne
There are a lot of other forum groupings to get into. But, when the best, most thorough and thoughtful mental probings occur right here, why bother?
    1. CreativeFossil
      you're joking right?

I post on science forums, there is no comparison. You can't get away with diddly squat or they tear you apart. It's FANTASTICCCCCCC. I find intelligence such a turn on.

If there is, I haven't seen it. This place (and its admin) are great!

This does happen to be a fun, if slightly unbalanced, group of people. I come here on a daily basis to harass, I mean, discuss topics of varying seriousness, from blogging advice and help to baking soda. Yes, there is a thread about baking soda. Check it out.

      ******** A WARNING *********

The service "bloggst" is completely overrun with spam mostly of the shoe-marketing kind. Nearly every category on the forum is filled with the same postings. There is no actual discussion in any recent threads I could find, even going back 50 pages of thread titles in some of the categories.

Almost none of threads have any response, and the ones that do have replies that are just more of the same spam!!!!!

There may not be ANY human management or moderation of this site going on now. I emailed a complaint about the spam and got not reply. I have now emailed to have my account removed. (Yes, I should have read more of the forum before joining, but its general setup looked very good.)
    1. timethief
Thanks for the good inclusions. I like hubages too and I'm embarrassed I forgot to include the url above.
    2. crazyTsu
      Hub pages..
I try them - they insist on classifying my blog again and again among a few non-matches!
    3. Stillthinking
Hubpages forum is seriously active! I am so surprised. Their interface isn't as smooth as BC's, but they are a lot more active than BC's general discussion board at the moment.
    4. crazyTsu
update: I've had it with them. their patronizing error message is the last straw:
This hub contains very little content, and cannot be published. If you wish to add content later, please click the save unpublished or done editing button.
    5. crazyTsu
And the least they can do is say exactly how much content they want! But I suspect the real problem is somewhere else (it's buggy!)
    6. Stillthinking
What is your hubpages id? I will check out your hubs.
    7. crazyTsu
its refusing to publish my blog.. i think the id is either crazyTsu or hubpages.com/hub/A-Sons-Diary

I wrote to them and congratulated them for having a computer program intelligent enough to reject my blog
    8. crazyTsu
      One more annoyance:

crazyTsu joined the Christianity fan club.

This is not my kind of site.. no sireeeee
    9. Stillthinking
I don't understand why it got deleted. Hub pages is a blogging site but not a blog directory. Did you try and create a hub that was just a link to your site? Because that is not what a hub is. A hub is supposed to be an actual article.

I submitted an article to Hub and while it got flagged as being duplicated from my blog, they didn't have any issue with publishing it.

If all you did was create a link to your blog, you are not understanding the purpose of the site.
    10. Stillthinking
The other part of it may be that your blog seems to be a lot of rambling about your personal thoughts (please don't take offense. You blog is fine, after all it's YOUR blog) but none of your posts seem to have any actual topics. Which may be why Hub is having a hard time finding categories to fit you or telling you mean things like "lack of content."
    11. crazyTsu
Ya, I employed RSS and drew the content into their site
And reg my rambling, yes, and I believe I have full right to ramble. If I dont fit in their rigid sense of categories the problem is not mine

Anyway.. if writing a post for them would cure their ills I might try it sometime
    12. Stillthinking
Hey, that wasn't meant to be insulting. You have the right to put whatever you want on your blog.
    13. crazyTsu
No problem there .. I understand what you said!
  12. 1brncowco
I really enjoy Hubpages a lot. Great forum activity, easy money, and fantastic writers.
  13. 1brncowco
Check it for yourself hubpages.com/forum/ if you've never been there. I'm sure you will enjoy.
  14. libdrone
my current fave is cmfads.com their forums are great

but honestly, No Place is Like BC

I still think Twitter is one of the best tools for exposures. When I open people's twitter pages, I always look at their links, normally their blog urls. Now there's twibes.com where u can form a twibe for people with similar interests. Check out my group info: www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/micro-blog-sharing Enjoy guys.
    1. SaurabhJ
Yes Indeed, Twitter is one of the most effective tools of gaining exposure. But, blogging has a special vintage place.I feel more comfortable with Blogging. Its a better medium of communication about a particular niche. Thats my opinion though, don't know what others think.

    There's nothing better than Blogcatalog.

    Blogcatalog rocks.

The funnest, coolest people in the universe are here.
    1. weblogian
Nothing special. Just love the discussion here.
    2. Tforch
      Hey there,
I'm Terry and I'm interning at BlogCatalog for the summer. I just wanted to say Thanks for showing BlogCatalog some love! BC Admin really do try hard to make BlogCatalog the best it can be. We love the vibrant community here too! It is what makes BlogCatalog different from any other website
    3. crazyTsu
Thank you - I know its me you are referring to!
    4. crazyTsu
Those losers at hub pages don't know what they are missing
  17. PearlTrader
According to the best of my knowledge:
BC is the Best Community of bloggers.
  18. aspotofblog
Checked out all those other social network/directories links. The formats all suck and don't feel welcoming at all. BC is the best by far, in my opinion.
  19. jijosunny
Digitalpoint Forums and Hubpages are the sites which I love the most
  20. ToughCookieMommy
I just joined mybloglog but I don't like it as much as blog catalog. So far, blog catalog is my favorite.
  21. sjtavo
I love BC - started off on mybloglog and got next to nothing from it. I love the debates that get sparked, the opinions that are shared and the random tidbits we all come up with.

    welcome to the neighborhood!
  22. FredSr2009
Blogcatalog is the top of the line.
  23. SaNn
    This is good for sharing...
  24. preganancytips
