I got page rank 2 today after more than two months. Any suggestions how to increase it to 4 or 5?
Look at the pagerank below my pic at..

As times go by, it's getting harder and harder to increase a site's pagerank. Why? cause it's like a video game where you play gain skill points (links) and level up (pagerank up). To reach level 1, you should get a certain number of points.
Ex. 100 points for level 1, 300 points for level 2 and 800 points for level 3.
That's the simplest explanation. But, in pagerank there a number of factor to determine link popularity.
Ex. Authority sites (pagerank 5+) gives more link juice than lower ranks, meaning 100 pagerank 2 is equals to 1 pagerank 5.
And remember, no follow links (those with "rel=nofollow" on html)doesn't count anymore

Page rank is all about your popularity throughout Googles index, you need to build more links and to give you some idea you will need around 7500 - 10000 to get PR4 and 15000 - 20000 to get PR 5, however the higher quality of link you get the less you need.
A good quality link consists of 4 elements
- From a solid PR page
- The page must be relevant to your content (if not it's pretty worthless)
- Anchor your text to increase your keyword theme
- Try and get a link from pages with few outgoing links on them. The fewer out going links the more link juice is passed.
You also need one way backlinks, reciprocal are seriously low in value terms because of their artificial nature. Google wants all natural listing which means the links to your site need to be pointing to it because of your great content, not because you have done a deal over email.
Try
Article Marketing
Press releasing
forum and blog comments
guest blogging
directory submissions
AND of course writing quality content.
A great way to get links is to have a hook on your page, by this I mean a reason for people to keep bobbing in, tutorials, games, resource lists are the usual sort of hooks, maybe some cool pics depending on your niche
Hope this has give you some ideas and apologies for any spelling errors

This is a great topic. I've been reading and studying all I can about marketing. First and foremost, I would agree with you Timmim the hook on the page, having a hook. Also, organized content. Lots of it! Plus, what you said about writing the articles. I've been submitting to Ezine now, my second article. Tonight I'm writing my 3rd. It's a lot of work! Not sure what I will do with press releasing, yet. I think I should get enough good content and a "hook." Thank you all for such great answers, and thanks to www.promdinurses.com I'll be working on these great guides!

Here's a little something that I was thinking about today. I bought a camera, and plan to do a lot of interviews with the Top professionals in the Healthcare realm, top specialists in every area I can think of, up to the hospitalist...but, tomorrow I plan on using my new video camera to start working with film editing, and uploading to YouTube. They say, if you post videos regularly, that if they are good enough, that you can attract a lot of attention from there...and people may link to you by virtue of this avenue.
Hope this helps, and I hope it works for me too!
